I always assumed he got into Elvis through Walt/Angie considering their house is filled with trashy Elvis memorabilia. But apparently Lennon was obsessed with him, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's why he picked up on Elvis too. Better not start idolizing negro gospel singers, boy!
