I noticed on her kickstarter page that 30% of the $1,000 this shit isn't going to raise will be going to some dude for "debugging and programming assistance". This looks like an incredibly basic game made in Ren'Py or some other program which tweens use to shit out crappy VNs all the time, how much assistance would she seriously require? It's pretty amusing that someone is already scamming her out of $300 to fix this mess.

It's hard to tell who's ripping off who really because with what utter shit it is, nobody worth paying would even look at it for less than $3K or so.

From my understanding, the most she did professionally as a hacker is basically be an assistant to an actual white-hat hacker (her current job). She may or may not have picked up skills under that guy, but if she did, she could easily strike out on her own and get paid very well.

You fell for their ruse.

Sean Rooney is her husband, the toothless buffoon that can't even afford to purchase dentures.

Her current employment entry--as well as her husbands--are essentially fake. Cyberia Technical Security Laboratory is just a Google+ account (see https://plus.google.com/102363012294872996502 http://archive.is/UE51p) and he just gave himself the title "Chief Security Scientist". If you look at his LinkedIn (https://ca.linkedin.com/in/sean-rooney-6a8b9a16 http://archive.is/Yr38o) you will will see the reality:

sean_rooney_1.png

Similarly, her LinkedIn (https://ca.linkedin.com/in/kimcrawley http://archive.is/DpaIy) is also padded with a fake company and title. Hotflood Technical Services is nothing more than a registered domain (hotflood.com) and not even a current site. Her title "Information Security Specialist" is just self-assigned.

For the last 5 years or so both her and her husband have been underemployed or unemployed, hence the e-begging.

Neither of them have any expertise in information security, malware or cryptography so their unemployment is unsurprising. Neither of them have presented at any security related con nor have they ever published any original exploits or even technical analyses of malware or exploits. None of her articles exhibit any specialized technical knowledge and I am unable to locate her claimed 2600 article (http://www.2600.com/):

Note: 2600 document search uses custom Google search

Also, more generally her writing is awful and extremely unprofessional. Here (https://archive.is/OzOhn) she thinks "libel" is spelled "liable" and she doesn't understand that libel and slander are types of defamation:

They appear to me to be a pair of grifters.

Misspelling libel as "liable" while making retarded lolsuit threats is generally the sign of the true moron.

It's definitely a sign of someone whose statements you should never take seriously.

This is fantastic. I wish I had more "informative" ratings to give you.

  • She cant write
  • She cant code
  • She cant hack IRL
At least she can feed and clothe herself (I hope)

None of her previous articles for that Infosec Institute seem to suggest any sort of technical competency or actual knowledge. I'm not actually even sure why they were paying her to write her atrocious articles in the first place, they're not any sort of journal or magazine. They're just one of the seemingly thousands of places selling certifications like Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Certified Ethical Hacker. She doesn't even seem to have taken advantage of getting any of those certifications either, none are listed on her Linkedin, infact, under 'Courses' she lists:

Courses
  • Hotflood Technical Services
    • Android Development
    • Linux System Administration

Which as @CyrusKissFanClub pointed out, is their own non-existent business. She has had no previous roles related to security other than the ones with her husband and seemingly fictitious companies.

Her Linkedin is frankly embarrassing considering the claims she makes about her own knowledge and capabilities.

Summary
I have experience in:

- Deploying Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu) installs and updates, both from a server and directly on each client machine

- Malware removal and prevention via implementation and configuration of signature/heuristic antivirus software, limiting user account permissions, and end user education

- Troubleshooting hardware problems (memory [RAM], expansion bus devices, networked devices, networking devices, and specialized output devices such as printers) and fixing them with updated drivers and/or replacing defective components as needed

- Educating end users about avoiding social engineering attacks

- Fixing network connectivity issues, whether the problem exists on a client machine, in a router/firewall/DSL box, or in the cabling

- Hard disk problem solving including repartioning, defragmentation, and data recovery of NTFS (Windows), ext4 (Linux), and HFS (OS X) formatted partions

- Fixing broken Windows Registry keys, and .conf configuration files in Linux and OS X

tl;dr - 'I know how to computer'

Edit: This was never updated so I'm presuming it didn't result in anything.

Tons of stuff

So basically, "Hackers vs. Banksters" is a deeply autistic coping mechanism based on their bank charging Sean an overdraft fee because they're terrible with money, much like how multiple Sonichu episodes depict epic battles that are actually based on Chris getting kicked out of Target?

I noticed that her husband's Linkedin doesn't mention him being current or former RCMP. She'd previously claimed he held 'RCMP rank privilege' which let her get away with being a tit: https://archive.is/l7SBc None of the experience he lists explains this claim.

Also his Linkedin gets to be equally as funny as Kim's, being finished of by this:

IndieGoGo
2012 – 2062

Seeking investment for Cyberia Technical Security Laboratory

Team members:
He tried crowd-funding the weird semi-fictional business. Plugging the Indiegogo on HackerNews: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4870897

The actual campaign seems to have disappeared entirely but Indiegogo is still hosting this PDF (to save you downloading, screenshots below): https://images.indiegogo.com/medias...bs_and_Data_Centre_-_One_Pager.pdf?1354369432

Their 'Gust' page is still alive: https://gust.com/companies/cyberialabs Will have to look into the claimed team they list later (who wants to be they correspond with her Sonichu's self-inserts?)

ETA archives just in case:

there are so many similarities to HvB and Sonichu, its ridiculous. HvB isn't just a game, it is a way to peer into Kimberly and Shawn's life the way they see it. in this idealized fantasy, crawley and sean are superhackers that do whatever they want and suffer no real consequences. i think all of the characters are based off real people too (and if thats true we need to find taylor lol).

The 'teams' Linkedins:

Sean Rooney aka Tankboy
Kim Crawley aka Crowgirl
David Gray
Mike Kaulbach
Sandy Harris

Not sure which one is Taylor so far, interestingly none of the others list Cyberialabs despite being on the team according to the Gust page.

They all have dramatically different levels of experience listed on their Linkedin pages in comparison to the Gust claims as well. Sandy's only previous experience related to security is working for Sean Rooney's previous business, all other experience varies from writer to lecturer (which was in computer science).

She is an expert in whatever field it is expedient to claim expertise at any given time.

Regarding the claim to hold three patents on networking technology: this is the Sean Rooney that holds the patents:

http://researcher.watson.ibm.com/researcher/view.php?person=zurich-sro

This is why Sean "Tankboy" Rooney included the word "Scientist" in his title, i.e. to foster the confusion between identities. Dr Sean Rooney is a research scientist at IBM Switzerland.

I tried finding the patents their Gust shit claims that Sean Rooney holds, had no luck with Canadian searches, but found bunch of results here, which scans th US Patent Office: http://patents.justia.com/inventor/sean-rooney

Most the actual applications were done by or related to IBM though, which led me to this (https://archive.is/IWZ3i) and now I'm just confused. This is either a separate guy, which seems most likely at the moment based on what has been found so far (in which case, wtf is with the patent claims?) or he has for some reason decided to keep his previous employment with IBM off his Linkedin.

That's a different Sean Rooney. What he's trying to do--and it works if you don't dig further--is to claim those patents of the Sean Rooney of IBM Switzerland. As I said earlier: a pair of grifters.

Sean "Tankboy" Rooney doesn't have a PhD or even an undergraduate degree. If he had either of these they would certainly be in his LinkedIn.

For l33t cyber security hackers, these dipshits have an internet footprint a mile wide.

Treading a dangerous line if the real Sean Rooney finds out. I wouldn't take kindly to con artists stealing my accomplishments.
