I played this a lot when I was in high school and really enjoyed it. Even it's sequel too. Killing Floor 2.

Both games are available on steam. Check them out.

Here's a video of ihascupquake playing killing Floor on a Minecraft themed custom map

And seananners too

The Plot:

the UK is in shambles after Mr. Foster (considered to be the main protagonist) and the british military went into kevin clamely's (the patriarch) hidden underground from the last game. they were helped by his daughter, Rachel Clamely. they find out that kevin clamely, now the Patriarch, was mass cloning himself, which explains why they had to beat him multiple times. they defeated the two patriarch clones that he left behind and were able to destroy the lab. but they find out that the real patriarch escaped to paris, where he is now spreading specimens everywhere there and its surrounding areas.

The patriartch is now working with Hans Volter, a century year old nazi scientist to spawn more speciemens and make them stronger. they give birth to new specimens.

the british military follow the patriarch to paris and intend to find him and the speciemns and wipe them out.

there are new monsters:

Slashers: a powerful and more aggressive version of clots

Rioter: a specimen that has a rally ability that can power up surrounding zeds near it.

I nabbed this game as part of the PS+ free game thing, it's pretty fun in short bursts and the games (at least on ps4) are usually pretty full. I'd recommend nabbing it for under ten bucks on sale.

I have a good chunk of hours in 2 and 1. I am a big shill for Tripwire games. As they have some of the best gunplay out there, and honestly 2 overall is a better game then 1.

Also they have been hinting at the upcoming Halloween update.

We will be getting the FAL, MKB42(H), and some new combo medic/commando rifle.

On top of all the Zeds getting some sorta Halloween costume.

I play here and there, though usually only on medium difficulty. Love some some support shotgunning.

I like the berzerker perk. Always liked the melee combat and being able to tank the zeds while mulching them.

hey guys. the beta for Halloween Horrors is available. you should switch to beta and check it out.

new map

new guns. the FNFAL ACOG from KF1 returns.

and new halloween themed skins for the zeds.

Update:

the summer event is going on now.

new map. steam fortress.

more guns. the seal squeal from KF1 returns. and a new medic/berserker weapon. the hemoclobber

objective mode from kf1 returns and has been put in for 3 maps.

and prestige rank 5 has been added for perks.

clear the event quests and you'll get steampunk outfits and a cool skin for the m99 amr sniper rifle

Haven't played this shit in forever. They still didn't get the versus mode working, right?

hey guys. the Christmas event is going on in the beta.

they added a new boss. The Matriarch

1573074815354.png

its actually Rachel Clamely, who is thinking she can stop her father, but she has become a monster herself like him.

and holy hell that look.

new community map called Sanitarium

New Weapons:
HRG Incision for Field Medic
HRG Winterbites for Gunslinger
Mosin Nagant For Gunslinger (paid DLC)
and Glock 18 and Riot Shield for SWAT (paid DLC)

I just can't get into this game. I loved the first one and have Lvl. 6 on everything except Commando but I just can't enjoy 2. The guns feel so weaksauce and the game feels so unsatisfying to me. Am I doing something wrong?

Not really. The 2nd one has a totally different tone to it than the first one which can be off putting if you dug the kind of grimy feel of the first one. The whole "you're always surrounded" mantra they went with the 2nd one is also the complete opposite of the first one's "rushed but manageable" flow once you got good enough. I still say the 2nd one just flat out cheats to kill you most of the time, with how the spawns work; and how fleshpounds rage out of sight. God I hate that shit.

hey guys. so the third game was announced. i asked an admin to merge both the kf1 and kf2 threads so we can talk about the whole series in general.

anyway. Killing Floor 3 has been announced.

the trailer looks cool. the contruction of a fleshpound and it looks like you can kill zeds with your bare hands. like doing glory kills in doom.

I'm guessing the 2nd one sold well enough to finance a third, then? I loved the first, but the 2nd always felt off for some reason, and the weird cosmetic lootbox stuff seemed out of place. Interested to see how this one goes.

All of the fancy visuals and cool guns were nice, but something about the game just felt like it was missing soul.

It's frustrating, because I feel very inarticulate when I try to describe how I felt playing it. I enjoyed the build up to release, would check out all the videos and articles discussing things like the advances in the gore system, the environments, the new music style. Then it came out out, and I played it, recognized it as a fun, good game...but just didn't want to keep playing. I could never really pinpoint why.

I feel KF got too cartoonish after the first one and this one looks no different. A LOT of things about KF2 left a bad taste in my mouth so I think I'd be skipping this one entirely unless I see different. I have several hundred hours in both games too, which means its sad to not want to try this one but that's just the direction Tripwire went. The dev politics are a whole other bag of worms too.
