Worst trade ever. I would be offended.

To be fair, he was the only one on my Steam friend list who had KF3 wishlisted and we spent a lot of time on the first two games together. We used to spend a lot of time playing games together until real life caught up to us. It's a nice way to catch up, even if KF3 is a disappointment. I feel bad that he spent money on this turd so he could have a friend to play with.

since people are shitting on kf3 again, let me point out a rather sad thing, you're basically fucked if you want to play the previous entries and it's not entirely limited to the lack of players that was caused by the egregious incompetence TWI had while ""developing"" either game.

KF1's got a case of being incredibly counter-intuitive and being a certified piece of shit in anything that isn't art direction, and even if you can manage with the endless jank that game has, you're still stuck with getting the right DLCs that have the right weapons (like the community weapon pack 2 that has the insanely good piston musket) or begging weapons from players that have the DLCs in question for sui/HoE.

KF2's got a case of having a gargantuan size of 90GB (and yes, majority of it is shitty maps, cosmetics, skins and weapons that nobody beyond absolutely retarded tourists asked for!), a still as bad situation on the technical part (see the fact that the times to start the game are an opinion that can range between a minute or ten), and while you don't need any of the DLCs to play the game, the balance is still effectively fucked from the endless bloat of weapons, the upgrade system, the dogshit maps that give you no space to hold anywhere and absolutely retarded vanilla choices with zeds like fleshpounds spawning raged and raging other giants that they run over.

and despite having lost the players from the infinite (and rather self-inflicted) drama kf2 had, they still did not learn any lessons from any of it, fuck these faggots with a rake.

since people are shitting on kf3 again
people have stopped shitting on KF3?
the only thing i am nooticing is that people are just grinding for lootboxes to sell on KF2, that is if they aren't a epicgames player since there isn't a marketplace on epic games, i guess that's why you aren't seeing many people shitting on kf3.

not because they liked it (lol), but because they remembered it existed, kf2 went nuclear with its relevance and right now nobody is even aware that this series exists.
for the lootboxes it's another lol since the market is fucking dead and it's mostly about making pennies towards shit nobody wants to buy

it's mostly about making pennies towards shit nobody wants to buy
that applies to pretty much all games with marketplace integration, even CS2.
i would say it's better than nothing but all you can do with GabeNBux is fuck all at least in my region, if you can buy a steamdeck or a steamvr with it then it's not bad.

I got KF3 d/t nostalgia for KF1. Its okay but calling it a finished product is an insult. Performance is shit and bugs are plentiful, this shit needed at least another half year to cook.

Honestly the lack of content is more egregious than the bugs, and that's saying something. No Gunslinger, no Demolitionist, changed Berserker into Ninja (more on that later), no unique cosmetics for weekly challenge, no game length selection (only 5 waves + boss), no server browser (ergo, no custom maps), no text chat, no way to edit class or equipment without leaving lobby, I'm sure I'll find more to bitch about as I go on.

They've announced they plan on decoupling the specialists from the perks in one of the early updates, and it can't come soon enough. All of the character suffer from the "yikes, well THAT just happened" Reddit writing, especially the quirky Hollywood pyrotechnics expert chick you play as when you select Firebug. The earlier aforementioned Ninja is... wait for it... you guessed it, a Japanese man with random lines in Japanese that are subtitled as -speaking Japanese-. He looks like he's wearing a Filthy Frank outfit and it looks fucking retarded. I imagine once the update comes the KF1/2 veterans will be using Foster exclusively, who no longer has a British VA and is a clone in-lore. His outfit is also different, but if you're a fan of his original look, you're in luck! For one week, you can spend $15 and get his original duds in this 30 hour old game.

At least I'm having fun reading cope posts on the subreddit. I have never seen a group of people try so hard to convince themselves they didn't get ripped off. Every other post is someone trying really hard to seek validation from others to justify their purchase.

I'm not sure if anyone else here has been looking at the Steam reviews, but what the hell is going on there? All the negative reviews have 50+ clown reactions, and half of the positive recommendations are scathing while saying shit like "at least the battlepass has a lot of content". Is it just a bunch of people in complete denial of what's in front of them?

The explanation I've been seeing is that this is the new meta for steam reviews, in order to make it difficult for vendors to obfuscate when a game is trash. I first noticed it around the time Avowed came out, but I have no idea whether it's an organic and intentional community strategy or just more Current Year™ lunacy.

marketing strategy, same when people vote positive and talk shit about the game.
as if that is going to change the ratings...

I doubt it's intentional. It's just the combination of retards taking criticism personally because they bought the game, and them coping with "the game will totally be fixed guys, trust the devs".

Pretty much. Either that or the people that leave an absolutely scathing review yet still giving it a thumbs up. If you count every "positive" review that highlights the issues and admits it's undercooked, the game would be sitting at a Negative rating. All the Killing Floor players clowned on Payday 3 and Back4Blood, but they don't like it when it happens to them.

So, how bad is it?
Pretty bad.
The more I play the more i hate.
So at a games base it should be fun to play. I went ninja as my first class to try and max since berserker has been my first dip in KF 1 & 2. I never felt in those games that my actions didnt matter, i could parry dodge and cut down enemies before they hit me no problem. In kf3 it feels like regardless of what I do im taking damage, and i cant tell if its becuae of buggy gameplay or laggy servers. THIS SHIT SUCKS. DO NOT BUY.

I had hope with my first couple of hours but playing for an extended session tonight has made me doompill. This game has fundamental issues that most likely will not be addressed, KF2 was released in EA nad became better, but it was EA so it was expected. This fuckin turd is supposed to be a feature complete release and it is SO BAD. Tripwire has lost the thread long ago and this shit is the nail in the coffin.

There's definitely a lot more hazards now. Cysts have a ranged attack, Bloats have even more range and leave bile when their ranged attack lands, Sirens have a burst ranged attack in addition to their old AoE scream, Husks have that new annoying artillery attack and a high-damage spin attack up close. The game really pushes you to use the sideways and backwards dodge to mitigate damage, especially from things like Fleshpound chain slams and boss attacks.

Outside of modding weapons to different elements, I haven't seen much use for it there isn't really a ton of build variety. Unless you count the old KF2 strategy of running the Medic's pistol just to have access to a more heals for your team.
