FOR REAL ARE YOU BEING HONEST?

100% honest. I sincerely believe that I am the biggest Kent fan in the world. I have seen all of his videos across every channel, many of them multiple times. I watch his videos every day. I've written two 500+ word reviews of his videos in the past three days alone.

YOU THINK HE'S A CELEBRITY?

I mean, he's obviously not a "celebrity" in the same vein as Tom Cruise or Leonardio DiCaprio. I think of him more along the lines of PewDiePie or Jenna Marbles. I'd say he's an up-and-coming, low-level YouTube celebrity. I mean, there are memes of him. That's gotta count for something.

ONE THING I DO AGREE WITH YOU ON.

If you are in touch with Kent, please tell him that I am a big fan of his and would love to speak with him. Tell him to sign up for an account here; we aren't trolls. We do joke around at his expense sometimes, but at the end of the day, most of us here really are his biggest supporters.
ILL LET HIM KNOW.

i find it funny that kent has found an audience of people on the internet who are genuinely interested in the boring stuff he has to say, care to check on his physical wellbeing, and lavish him with attention, and yet he retains such a weirdly unaware "nobody cares about me" perspective

if kent wanted to talk about rejection with me i would do it though. tell him that, @TJ1000

It is a strange way to view things.

I'm not sure if it's clouded view from depressive swings or if it's his ego, we aren't/can't give him a g/f on a plate so we don't care. Most of us have offered advice that he doesn't want. So it's clear willing to spend a few mins trying to get someone past their demons.

Clearly and I don't mean it as a bad thing anyone who creates be it paint youtube etc wants attention and some review, aside that and being therapy it's kind of a mystery why kent is so dedicated to his youtube. Adds to the whole thing I think.

YOU'RE THE MAIN PERSON THAT PUTS HIS VIDEOS IN THIS THREAD YOU DUMB FUCK SO OBVIOUSLY YOU WATCH HIS "Boring" VIDEOS. YOU ARE A DUMB MOTHERFUCKER FOR SAYING SOMETHING STUPID OBSESSED ASS BITCH.

i've run into a lot of people in the outer kentosphere who make "social anxiety exposure" videos as some kind of therapy, like it seems to be a not-so-outlandish therapy technique for socially anxious people to videotape themselves talking to an imaginary audience. it gives them experience talking, expressing their feelings, and getting experience talking naturally and without so much hesitation--the videotaping element exists to remove added pressure and to provide a way to easily terminate the experience if it gets to be overwhelming or whatever.

kent's videos have a lot in common with these, but i've never understood them to be therapeutic in any controlled way. like, maybe kent works out some of his repetitive thoughts through this externalized internal monologue that he likes to perform, but i don't think his therapist is saying "kent, come at us again with another youtube video presentation" or anything

that still fails to really answer the question of why kent is associating this stuff with a somewhat expansive social media presence. that part, i assume, is a desire for attention, but kent is human, even if we are living in kent paradise

did your caps lock start working again for the word "boring"?

if you actually read through this thread it's really a group effort--people post them when they see them, and then someone watches them (usually on 1.5x speed or so) and takes notes so the rest of us don't have to hear kent repeat himself ad nauseum. bassomatic probably does more of the latter than i do, or at least he's way more thorough.

That's an interesting thing I've never heard of that forgive the power level but times i've spoke on camera I tend to freeze up and suck. I'm much more at ease in front of people. Perhaps that's why Kent is doing it so well, he's not having to deal with feed back like a live audience is? Kent's issues may make it the other way around for him.

The camera can't sneer at you, but it's eyes can't light up when the point is nailed home. So I can see how Kent or anyone can repeat themselves with out some training on working with a camera. Or I just am really bad at it and over thinking my weak points.

I do agree the change up is good as well, I think his football work is the most solid his gaming was hard to watch not being a gamer and the food reviews are so lacking. I can respect him not sharing his personal rub recipe, lots of cooks like to keep a trick up the sleeve but Kent really just shows oh i'm making X not much detail and when he eats stuff we get its good.

I think he should use the football videos as a base and put some more in that.

I definitely agree. The more detailed the better. That's what a review is all about. If you don't go in-depth about the topic, it's kinda hard for the audience to have a solid understanding of the overall point.

We know the "rejection, women hate me, they love thugs" vids are inevitable. Personally, I think it'd be much better going forward if these vids weren't so linear. Like, we get it. Shit sucks. It was unfortunate that he's always felt the pain of believing he was defeated right outta the gate, but what are you going to do about it...now? There's no size fits all solution that's going to make his situation magically change, but he can work towards improving his self-esteem and ditching his bleak outlook on women and life.

Rather than the same ol' regurgitated stuff on how all the evil women have wronged him, how about a new series based around Kent experimenting with doing things differently instead? This would obviously be the more difficult route to take because he's become accustomed to making his vids a certain way, but I think it'd be more beneficial to Kent in general. Time and time again we've seen him write-off the idea of confidence and how it doesn't matter.

You don't just somehow become confident for a limited amount of time and drop it when you're not seeing the results you'd like to see. That's why I always get annoyed when I see him throw jabs at the idea of confidence, since he makes it painfully clear he has no idea what it looks like. Just because he has low self-esteem doesn't mean he has to continue having it. These are things he can work on if he's just willing to work hard and take a walk outside of his comfort zone.

TJ might disagree with this notion and probably thinks I'm a dolt for even suggesting it. However, what's certain is that it beats slowly withering away in that negative bubble by a long-shot. I want Kent to start focusing on solutions rather than excuses.

Oh, shit, I missed another Kent meltdown. Damn social life! This one looked fun, too. Is "Kent Paradise," a land where everyone's autistic and dresses like a 12-year-old? Everyone is 5'3 or shorter, and speaks in repetitive monologues, and there are clocks everywhere so that everyone always has the time of the day?

My thoughts on "Speaking What's On My Mind":

It's a black and white one, and Kent is at one of the lowest points I've seen him at in a very long while. Accordingly, I'll try to keep my snarkiness to a minimum. As you may have guessed, Kent speaks what's on his mind in this video, and that's all that he does.

It was very late when he recorded this video. Pretty much, Kent really isn't feeling all that great right now; he's feeling inadequate and like a failure. He's at the age where he wants to date and have a woman in his life, but he's "been struggling for the longest to get that." His flashbacks have been acting up; there are still many things from his past - bullying and mistreatment from his peers - that he can't let go of.

In a particularly grim revelation, Kent says that football season - something we all know him to be very happy about - actually makes him depressed. It reminds him of when he played cornerback and free safety for his High School team, and watching other people play football makes him "feel down" and "depressed about it." His football coach was "a complete A-hole" because he didn't let Kent get any playing time. Well, he did get SOME playing time, but he was only in the game for one play. Kent does not realize that, given his height, he is very lucky to have been on the team at all. The coach probably did his best to let Kent participate, when he most likely should have just been cut.

Kent has things planned out for his future - he's not going to go into detail about them, but what really made him happy was celebrating his birthday in Seattle. He "had the time of his life about that." But once he came home, he was just the "same old Kent. Same old people, same old state of California." He just wants to move; "new life, new beginning. I can be happier."

By the time 2015 is over, he doesn't think he will have a girlfriend, or have gone on a date yet, or "have [had] sex, or any of that stuff." (*rates Agree*) Other people his age are going out on dates, partying, enjoying themselves and their lives - "Which is cool!" - but, as for him, he's just an "overall loner." Even if he does go to a bar or a club, he'd be by himself. Back when he was in Seattle, those people at the restaurant approached him. "They approached me; I did not approach them!" That made Kent feel good. He thinks about himself having a girlfriend the most; "the lack of connecting with females and stuff like that." Women still do not want to give him the time of the day. All women did was reject him, clown him, ignore him... All of that stuff. "Why do I gotta suffer from True Forced Loneliness? It's like I'm being FORCED to be alone."

Kent acknowledges that some of us may remember he once mentioned that he "wasn't gonna be living on this Earth five years from now," and that was one year ago. He hopes that if he DOES still be living - "which I hope I do!" - then he'll be living a good life in Seattle. "I hope so... Heh. I really hope so." Pretty dark. Kent doesn't even know why he's making this video. He likes doing YouTube videos; it's his "only way to express his feelings." "Of course I'mma get haters, I'mma get trolls, I'mma get all that stuff." He says that all he can do in life is do the things he enjoys; I guess I agree with that.

2002 "was a pretty good year" for Kent. Kent was eight years old; The Raiders went to the Super Bowl, le music was le better, and the Attitude Era was ending in wrestling.

Kent mentions getting rejected by "females" then says, "Let me stop saying females. By WOMEN. Getting rejected by women." Hmm... Interesting!

Kent's gonna start uploading more gaming videos. (Ugh.) He's gonna "step his gaming up"; he hasn't played PS4 in a while and "usually that's not [him]." He really loves videogames. Sometimes he isn't in the mood to make gaming videos, or do food reviews, or do cooking videos - he wants to do it, he just don't "be in the mood to." Instead, he "be watching the WWE Network, watching TV, going on YouTube," etc... He just feels like a failure, man. So inadequate, man. It's hard, man.

Kent isn't gong to go into detail about his money and his finances - it's nobody's business but his own - but "money is not easy to come by in this economy. It's just not." If any trolls wanna attack him or make fun of him, "go right ahead and troll [him]. Go right ahead."

This video really gives you an idea of how much depression controls Kent's life and his perceptions. Even things he likes make him sad. He has PTSD-like flashbacks of things that happened in High School. Overall, I'm really feeling for Kent at this moment.

There's a cruel backwards Al Bundy esque thing with Kent in football, perhaps I'm dating myself with remembering Married with Children, but the high point of Al's life was his time as a football star. Kent seems to be haunted by his high point of life, being "shafted" in football. I do agree, even in weak programs Kent's a small dude who by his own claim isn't dedicated to fitness he wouldn't be that handy. He's never stated what position he played either.

I'm thinking he played a JV or club league and if playing a club and you don't get a turn that's kinda cold but not something to let PTSD you out. For him understanding football he'd understand swapping players different lines etc, it's his ego is trumping his understanding of the sport.

It's a lot better Kent has a Uptioan view of a place and it's given him enough motivation to not kill himself. I wouldn't say putting X on a pedestal is a good way to live but it beats suicidal.

With Kent saying he's gonna host video's he does let it slip his depression is ruling his life as of late, that and the tired and over used da economy is bad excuse why he's tight on cash. Saying you spend all day watching youtube doesn't give you much time to work right?

Also with out side tracking in economics, Kent doesn't talk about his fiances but we can make some guesses, all the group stuff he's doing and possible disability he's getting will probably be less or not offered in Seattle, and since I'm sure Kent isn't aware they are having some serious drama as of late economically speaking. I would be worried Kent losing the help he's getting if he moves.
