Even the fucking alternative wiki I linked is dead, it's over. Not that /keng/ was even a popular, thriving general but what little community we had might be ruined. The only person I know who is definitively from /keng/ and still posted there (last I checked at least) are two talented coomers, Don and Keny.

I've been meaning to get into Kenshi a bit. So far whenever I build even the tiniest of bases and mine some minerals etc, I eventually get raided by a squad of slavers, zealots or bandits. What do I do against that in the early game? Stick to a city or run away and hide every time they show themselves?

Base building should be a midgame investment, and only if you're not interested in being a towny who builds in a city and buys supplies from engineering shops. By "midgame", consider it having your donuts at lvl 40~ with equipment above standard-grade.
In the worst case scenario, mercenaries got for... what, 4000 cats a day? If you really need support to fend off raiders you can leave your base when enemies are near, hire mercs from a town or waystation, and return to greet the visitors with your extra muscle.

Mercenaries are also a great investment if you wanna try hunting for beak-thing eggs.

What did they usually post? Off the top of my head the kengposters that were still alive were...

- Radioanon + the guy working on the Warframe mod
- The anon from the Don Pedro / Longdog / Hardcore Hannah playthroughs

4cacas may be dead but /keng/ is eternal, hopefully the kenshi discussions will continue to be as schizophrenic and autistic as they were before, my only hope is that the wikianon doesnt get discouraged by the recent turn of events.

If you want to build something very early instead of grinding stats to finally do it: get some bodyguards (best if they are tech-hunters) they will keep your people alive or distract the bandits long enough for your ballista guys to put some bolts in their skulls, people really sleep on them early but they are a good source of training, defense and money since you get what you paid for (and more) by just stroling around and gang on some bandits instead of waging away in the copper ore like a cuck, for base defense get at least 1 storm house with ballistas, if the IRS or the muslims come to your base get the workers to the panic house, and let the figthers tank while the workers offer support with the ballistas while the spare ones desperately fix the door, you may not win but you may repel the raid without (not many) of them dying, i've done this in The Pits and i can safely say it CAN repel foreskin bandits and crabbers with stats as low as 20 with 7 people, Mounted crossbows mkII and without external help, with bodyguards should be even easier to get something decent going, hope this helps.

What happened to him? also some of his mods are being loaded in the nexus but unfortunately the frog mod is nowhere to be seen, perhaps in a few days it will be back up, is a shame, shitlike this make me wish there was an "Internet Archive" but for mods, Apachii skyhair was another that banished (luckily i have a copy of it) one of the few kenshi hair mods i do like.

My understanding of the situation is that someone (possibly associated with Genesis) criticized Mogwai's mods, which caused him to have a meltdown and go full DFE mode. Then he reuploaded his content, only to take it down again. It's really just the fate of all modding communities to take what they have for granted and think that mod hosting is forever only to lose it all on a whim. /keng/ had a good thing going early on with the Mega, I just wish it went beyond the small selection that was on there.

Speaking of mods, reopening kenshi made me remember i still have the yabuta outlaw overhaul idea on the works, i decided to test the raids and they do work, all i need to do is to write the dialogue, probably something silly and over the top like 80s kung fu movies

Gave them a new outfit selection since the vanilla one was an eyesore, more unit variation, different paths for them to appear depending if the player is allied with the outlaw farmers or not and a way to destroy them if you dont want them in the game and you freed the guy, it works with reactive world, i have to test if it works with kaizo, when i finish it i'll post it in here.

Ah i see, good ol' Atlas, that guy may be fitting for this site with his behavior, harassing modders and sperging out in /keng/ because anons said his mod is shit, wich is how i knew about him, he made the thread shittier when another modder was sharing updates for his mod and they got into a slap fight for a year because of discord drama wich made the place unusable, anons in /keng/ claim the modding comunity is rather empty in kenshi because of him and his army of discord troons (idk how true that is)

Sadly there's no Dune mod, there is a star wars one though, is pretty good actually, the creatures fit kenshi a lot.

black desert is shit and it's only appeal is coomerbait character thing because it's a south korean mmorpg, the action combat is trash and terribly balanced where each new class will be OP as fuck for two months then the devs will nerf it so witches get back to the OP podium.
black desert is the best place to steal from the skeletons as a regular stealth hiver, big bucks to be made.
 
Speaking of mods: Here's something I'm never going to upload to steam workshop because I have no idea if it's fully "legal".
Ever noticed how the Garru's run animation is fucking jank and busted more than usual for Kenshi? Well, I did, and it is busted because they fucked the last frame and also didn't do their end->beginning wrapping properly on it since the engine doesn't seem to interpolate between the last frame and start frame of an animation. Anyway, months ago I spent a few days fucking with blender and made this to fix it. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good IMO. Guess there's no better place to post this than here, honestly. Feel free to just post this wherever or whatever I don't give a fuck about credit because I'm not a homosexual.

It's a shame that there's very few modding spheres in Kenshi that are not influenced by the Trader's Guild and aren't coom mods.
His Genesis clique and himself would fit with other trooncords featured here, but all I ever saw of him were the /keng/ slapfights.

Why wouldn't it be "legal"? There's plenty of animation overhaul mods.
