He took the long ass route and made things even more complicated than they are
Hell I would just let someone else translate it But release the English copy first not translate it all at the same time

First off let's be very clear here. We all know Penders has 0 programming experience. I feel sorry for the guy he has programming his app. Guy must be getting daily top-tier spergy emails from Ken with the next project delaying great idea.

This is a solid point. Outside the States/Canada who is aware of The Archie storylines? I know UK (thus Europe) has Fleetways stories and the japs (and Asia?) did whatever.

Archie Sonic had a small following in Japan from what I've seen of some fanart and IDW has a print run in Japan as well, but I highly doubt there is enough of a non-English fanbase to justify working on ANY translation right now before his story about legally distinct Knuckles is even finished in English. It really makes no sense, his focus should be split between actually finishing the book and advertising, the other shit can come later.

It is such an arrogant stance to have as well, does he really expect to have translators at his beck and call to do continuous edits to a work-in-progress project? If he does then he can expect to pay a premium for translators to be working with such a fickle author. Translations are the absolute last step in the completion of any project because any work must first prove success in its home market to justify the expense of localizing for international audiences. In many cases the request to translate a successful literally work comes from foreign editors that want to buy the exclusive distribution rights for their region and pay for the expenses related to translating the work, but that only happens when said work has proven to be successful in its home market.

Here the wrinkle that Ken doesn't seem to grasp, his name is equivalent to a blight for a large swath of the Sonic fandom because of his lawsuits relating to Archie and Sega and how this affected the franchise over the years. He is trying to appeal to an audience that largely despises the detrimental influence he has had over Sonic as an IP. Add to that his ostracizing of people that do not share his sociopolitical views which decreases even further his ever shrinking audience. At this point I believe that anyone who wants to spend any money on getting the Lara-Su Chronicles is to review it and point and laugh at its incompetence.

Ken if anything has done everything in his power to salt the earth to make sure his comic is a failure by any metric.

I've been asking myself why a custom app? What makes his comic so special that it'll need a stand alone app to distribute it? Why not put it on Kindle?

Then it hit me, what better way to avoid negative reviews of the comic if published in an app that disallows it.

Archie Sonic is one of those things that is going to be looked back by Sega fans the same way Nintendo fans look back at the American Mario and Zelda cartoons from the 80s. Something too embarrassingly bad to acknowledge it was ever a thing.

Seems like Ken is the type of control freak that needs to micromanage a project every step of the way instead of letting go and allowing other people to work on their part of the project unimpeded.
 
My God, is genuinely surprising how a person can have so little grow on a artistic level. That shit looks stuck on 90's - early 2000's years of furry fandom.

Without proper inking or any lineweight I can barely tell what's what. I was jokingly thinking the back of the chair, which I didn't realize was a chair, was a penis or something.

But then I looked at the holographic screen on the far right and noticed something off about it. The fact that it is inked, and colored more competently.

C'mon Penders, I know it's technically your art, but it's rendered 100x better than what you're capable of.

The coloring itself is so baaaaaad but it wouldn't have been that bad if he hadn't been lazy and inked the damn thing.


And the guy has actually regressed, mostly because of the fact that he doesnt have an editor anymore.

So what does Penders do for his day job? Must be pretty intensive since he's been chipping away on issue 1 since 2014!

I remember talking about his app way back. He makes it sound like it would push the webcomic medium forward. But he needs to actually publish it. Instead, sperging out on Twitter and hyping up his lore and how wonderful his app will be.

I'm sure this has been said before, but here I go. He really gives off a Chris Chan vibe. Autistically focused on his OCs and constantly hyping up his skills and how great his shit WILL BE ONE DAY.
