Nintendo were worse. At the least Sega let someone outside of themselves use their property, regardless of how controlling they might have been.
Although to be fair, the main reason Nintendo never let other companies use their stuff for so long was to prevent the next Hotel Mario being made, so it might have been for the best.
Or the worst if you consider the memes a game generates to be a factor of its overall quality, because in that case Hotel Mario is a goddamn masterpiece.

From what I can tell, Sega tries way too hard to appeal to everyone in the fanbase, even the most vocal of fans, which ironically makes it appealing to absolutely nobody in the long run. For example, this is basically the reason we have Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic be in two separate dimensions, to appease the classic fans by saying everything after S3&K technically didn't happen.
The shipping part kind of makes a bit of sense though, especially considering the number of shipping wars that go on in the fandom, even during the production of some of these comics. In other words, it seems that Sega just can't trust the fanbase to not chimp out over who gets shipped with who anymore.

It's also probably the reason they'll never go back to the Adventure style of 3D Sonic again. In spite of the popularity of those games, people kept complaining about it and how Sonic 06 was like an Adventure game but they forgot the fact that Sonic 06 was just a broken unplayable mess instead of just being a typically bad game. Then again, it's probably for the best Sonic Team never goes back to the Adventure style. God knows what they'll do after Forces.

'Scuse me for being off topic, but is that tumblr post referencing Raven Moislee? If so I wouldn't be surprised - she's made some pretty edgy porn involving Edd and Eddy's brother [Definitely NSFW] in the past (and if my memory serves me correctly she's currently working on Stephen Universe).
Back on topic - I honestly find Ken more amusing than anything else, especially when compared to Had a good laugh going through all his posts - which is quite refreshing honestly after seeing the sort of shit artcows like John K does. I think the only reason the degenerates in the cartoon community usually get away with it anyway is because they're drawings and aren't real kids or whatever, but you'd think that would at least raise some alarm bells about their mental health/stability.

There's something deeply wrong about the Link doodle but it's hard to pinpoint what it is precisely. What's with his legs?

It's been bugging me too. The pose he gave Link is awful and makes him look awkward. Art ain't my forte so I can't get into the details, but comparing Ken's version to this art of Link which has a similar pose really brings out the flaws

The problem is in the proportions, the legs are too small and skinny. Ken drew Link like a emaciated manlet. Male Elfs in fiction don't tend to be muscular powerhouses but they do have fit bodies and human proportions, this drawing lacks "oomph". The pose is bad because there is not a defined action line and because the way he stands looks as he is about to fall back or run away(not sure how with those tiny feet). Compare that to the official art, even though the pose is still Link's shows confidence, readiness, steadiness and power.
If I didn't knew this was drawn by Pender I would have sworn this was made by an amateur still learning how to draw, heck, the more I look at it the worst it gets.
PS: If I have time I'll probably make a in depth break down of it.
