How much of the comic are you going to post anyway? I don't think you need that many to make your point, just highlights would do.

Then I'll give you a quick recap by Cybershell

this is how I got information from him, as you can see he got a major track record for outright douchery.

I enjoyed the comical side that it was going in the beginning. It made sense since it was basically going by the Cartoon concept of humor. Some of the stuff that went on I didn't even take seriously...but then the comic suddenly went into a more darker turn than before. I question if Ken Penders was part of this.

edit: I should add that they did make a satAM show, which I wasn't sure if that was made before the comic...but I think it was, but that expressed some dark tones as well.

I dunno if my answer is in this video but I hope to find out, once I'm able to.

I honestly dropped the comic when it started taking itself too seriously, I think it was a little before 75 so lol forever ago. tbh this was a nice romp down memory lane. :heart-full:

I dropped when it became SONIC IN SPACE back in like 2004

It makes a bit more sense if you consider people like this were in charge of Archie - http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/archie-boss-calls-male-employees-penis-article-1.1534462
"[T]he word ‘penis’ became somewhat of a campaign slogan and her preferred method of referring to employees in lieu of their names,” their new filing says."

I remember reading about Penders last year and from what I could gather he does have the right to use his true and honest original characters in name but he isn't allowed to draw them in the same style as the Sonic character Knuckles anymore hence the new look but that might have just been speculation.
That's a brilliant practical joke they pulled on him because he obviously can't draw anything not in the sonic style.

"You want to sabotage us and single-handedly ruin a decade old continuity? Have fun drawing them like they're crackwhores drawn out from a how to manga book!"

Ken, everyone already thinks your a fucking retard, don't cement it in by acting like the creepy nu-male pseudo-feminist you physically appear to be.

To understand how Penders ruined Archie Sonic i have to show you what the comic was in it's first era, the Micheal Gallagher era.

Penders kept the comic from losing syndication when he wrote the Doomsday Project and kept it going for another 150+ issues. To say he ruined it implies nobody had an interest in buying the comics after his involvement even though it kept selling until he personally killed it in court. He might be a complete moron but his original work shouldn't be discredited because he actually would ruin it years after.

Lara-Su Chronicles is a vaporware version of Tails gets Trolled. I would say Sonichu, but from what we know now it's not the case (Unless it actually features Penders as a character).

I think Pender's first few issues were actually decent. It's when he started dabbling into the whole dramatic plotlines is when Archie Sonic started to become exceptional.

tbh the only good thing Penders ever did was provide an art style for others to steal and improve on

Worth pointing out, Penders didn't join Archie until issue #11 - Up to that point the storylines had mostly been simple adventure stories with gags shoved in. DiC was producing both SatAm and Adventures of Sonic at the same time, which is why the comic was a weird mish-mash. SatAm had a lot of concept work and looked more cartoony in early development but seemed to become darker/serious before they went into production. SatAM did get a lot of credit for actually attempting a series-spanning storyline and Sega of America liked it enough to consider making games based on that alt-universe.

The way Sally looked was because Archie was working with pre-production materials when the comic started, Sally started out as a fox very early on with blonde hair and orange fur, then became a chipmunk and traded the princess dress for a vest, and the test pilot episode even had her in the black hair and pink fur design that stuck for Archie's early issues.

Penders first story is the first Anti-Sonic story which itself was complicated and never fully explained till his run was near it's end. So he did start as he meant to go on. It did work for a while, but that's mostly because Ken was very good at writing good story twists or ideas, but he was also incredibly lousy at actually doing anything with most of his emotionally charged plots. You could have one story idea show up, and it would be promptly forgotten next issue or handwaved on for years.
