She's been pretty good with knowing her body's limits, but how much of that can be chalked up to pure luck? I don't think she'll suicide on purpose, but as she ages her body is not going to be able to take the same kind of abuse forever. This isn't half assed suicide baiting or performative attempts though, she is really maiming herself and getting as close to the brink of death as possible for the sheer thrill of it and I think she figures oh well, if she dies, she dies. I just get the sense that unlike most who do it for asspats and pity type attention, she does it for the rush, and satisfaction at shocking and disturbing people. She's like a bargain bin version of David Blaine who performs for free via social media.

This. I think she’ll be ok riding the attention of the prosthetic journey but that first sore or chafe is going to turn into another “why me” blowout. When her legs were healing, she upped the ante & went right back to it once the attention started to taper off. She did it with the initial blisters & then again with the grafts. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see her responding any differently once those blisters hit.
 
I haven't thought about Kelly in a long time. Just found out about the amputation.

Good for her... I guess? I mean now she needs OT for like the rest of her life and plenty of prosthetics training. That's all the medical attention she'll ever need. I'll be surprised if she doesn't rip open the stubs though.

It's either just gibberish or low quality bait for us, like the time Kelly tried to convince us they had their own twin language.
Also Kelly poses as Gina all the time online so best to just treat those comments like Kelly's family treats her; like they don't exist at all.
 
Saw a teenage boy, about 2 weeks ago, riding a bicycle with 2 above the knee prosthetic and missing his left arm. I will certainly look at kel's drama posts differently.
 
Anyone see Gina‘s story? Apparently Kelly’s roommate surprised her with a tricycle she can operate with her arms. Weird that Gina posted it instead of Kelly though.
 
Probably within a week she will exploit her sister’s attention enough that Gina will yell at her and back away again. It must be tough for Gina. She clearly knows it’s her sister’s own doing but also knows her sister is severely mentally ill. She seems like she keeps trying to have a relationship with her and then Kelly always ends up just taking advantage of her attention.

I love how she doesn’t wear those stub cuffs that look like a huge sock, a lot of amputees wear them in public because they know how it’s perceived and they feel like less of a spectacle.

But of course, no, not Kelly. She will always show those stub ends with pride because she worked really hard to mutilate her legs off.

She’s the Queen of the Munchies imo for her pure dedication and commitment.

If you aren't diligent with compression on a fresh amputation, it can heal weird. It's like a dental retainer: you're setting it in a shape that's healthy and easy to deal with for the future.

Knew someone who wouldn't be told what to do and let a BKA dangle free in the wind. Wouldn't allow ACE wrapping, wouldn't wear the stump shrinker or any compression at home. After a few years, the residual limb was like a big squishy grapefruit on a stick, and a prosthetic was absolutely not an option.

(This was, of course, everyone else's fault.)
 
I was gonna say— by not working to maintain the shape of the residual limb, she can kiss her chances of prostheses good-bye. What’s left of her legs need to be as cylindrical as possible for a fit that is remotely comfortable inside even the best made prosthetic.
Maybe that’s the point, though. Yet another failed attempt at pulling up a facade of normalcy or trying to be a productive member of society— Kelly is desperate for pity, and a long-term fail at adapting to custom prostheses will definitely garner her plenty of pity.
 
Well, it is kinda nice to see her getting some fresh air, going to the beach, etc. and the hand-pedaled bike is cool, if she could get really into exercise maybe (heh) some natural adrenaline might do something positive for her smooth lil brain.
I really do hope someone emphasizes the importance of wrapping/compressing those stubs. Almost wonder if she’s already starting the next medical crisis by doing that. Her stumps are gonna look like very limp soggy burritos.

Every time I look at her it’s so depressing. No ones life should be whatever the fuck this is. I know it’s her fault, but I genuinely wish differently for her (esp because then she’d not be wasting blood, hospital staffs time, not embarrassing & stressing out her sister).
That and Chompy. I worry about that poor cat.
 
Something I can never figure out about cows- Is Internet addiction a cause or symptom of their mentals? Would it make any difference in Kelly’s life if she somehow got treatment for it? Or if she never had access to the interwebs again?

For Kelly specifically, most likely no. She is a classic munchie; unlike others we follow who get off on internet asspats, Kelly lives for the attention of medical professionals and the internet engagement is just a bonus. She would likely continue wasting medical resources even if she never touched the internet again.
