So, medical farmers, how bad is it going to have to get for some professional to do something? Is amputation the next step? What has to happen in order for them to decide that's necessary? Are they effectively just waiting for the point of no return?

It must be killing Kelly that no one is dying to see her pictures. She's the worst she's ever been, has gone further than ever before, and her threads are basically dead. She has to beg to get anyone to go through the trouble of messaging her to get access to her photos for KF. She is nearly banned from IG, and yet is still begging people to drop her DMs with eye emojis in order to see her gangrene videos. She probably figured she'd be showered with attention at this point.

I'm in the US, but one particular case I am familiar with a patient that complained of abdominal pain and was a frequent flyer in the ER but nothing really could be found medically wrong with her. One day she walks into the ER with a knife stuck in her stomach. She did it to herself. From there her health went downhill, but I don't think they could really do much except treat the damage and try to refer her to psych treatment, which didn't work of course because she kept harming herself. ETA; this lady's reasons were different though. She was convinced she had "something" in her and was trying to remove it.
anyway, as far as Kelly goes, If gangrene sets in and the tissue starts dying (that is why they check for a pulse in the tissue it is sign it is still getting circulation) but once that stops it will have to be amputation or it will kill her if they do not remove the dead leg.
And then she will just move on to another body part I imagine. She's killing herself one dig at a time and truthfully noone can really stop her unless she quits on her own. Which won't happen ever.

Found this thread by chance. Damn damn damn, one hell of a read. She is gone well off into the deep end. She is going to lose at least the one leg. Swollen ankle and a large cavern. Then she can get to work on losing the other one. If she does it skilfully, she will not have enough skin to cover the wounds, then she can really get her munch on.

Canadian here, there are a lot of people who end up needing intensive care due to mutilating themselves, usually they just have a security officer or cop watch them as they heal until we don't think there is a high risk of them imminently doing it again. At the end of the day though some people will bullshit their way through a psych evaluation, go home and injure themselves again. Many times they're in and out of hospitals their whole life. All we can do is refer them to self injury support programs (CBT or DBT usually) and possibly initiate a psych hold if there is no doubt about their intentions or they admit they still wish to harm themselves (this is only useful for people who only hurt themselves during acute psychotic episodes). Psych holds only really last a couple of days at maximum though and someone like Kelly who swears up and down they aren't doing anything will talk their way out of it pretty easily.

So, yeah, tl;dr not much we can do for people who chronically mutilate themselves beyond patch them up as needed, offer them psych treatment, and prevent them from doing anything drastic on our watch.

Edit: Just realized you were asking more about the physical side of it, they'll do their best to save the limb and Kelly heals really well when she's not actively trying not to so she can probably take a lot more abuse before amputation becomes necessary.

Fucking hell, it's like browsing /r/gore again.

I feel sorry for the surgeons, doctors and nurses who have to continuously tend to this nutter. All that work, time and resources poured into someone who'll just undo their efforts the moment she's left alone.

Well... I had pegged Anna Johnson as the next BP cow to bite the dust, but I think Kelly might have a chance.

CRIPES.

Here we go again.

I wonder when her Behcets will move to her face? Then she could really get sympathy because she wouldn’t have to wear shorts for everyone to know how sickly and special she is.

Sorry for asking something probably already explained elsewhere, but why is her spelling so outstandingly poor? It's uncommon to find people who type like this without also having a learning disorder. Dyslexic/dyspraxic people usually learn to hide or mitigate it.

My guess is its part of the persona she is trying to portray "the poor sick girl"

Whats going on in that first picture, is there some kind of empty cavern in her leg? How is that possible?
I noticed that, too. I had assumed it was because there is literally nothing in between the bone and her black crispy flesh. Check out the area where it points to the fibula. I think it may be that part of the bone that we're seeing.

Her pain tolerance is super-human by now. If our legs were rotting off and we were removing a pad sticking to the open wound, I wager we’d be screaming in agony. Though I guess that’s assuming her nerves still function properly and she can feel what she’s doing to herself.
she yanked out a main nerve out of that leg.. she is insane.
