Agreed. Honestly, I think she shouldn't get prosthetics. My understanding is that leg prosthetics are really prone to causing blisters and stuff, which she will very likely pick at, perhaps even out of habit (I still don't believe she has true dermatillomania, but she been picking for a long time) rather than munching. Leg amputees often have these prosthetic complications throughout their lives, including socket not fitting right from weight loss/gain, sores from the constant friction, epidermoid cysts that show up in above-knee amputees like kelly, infected hair follicles, etc. I do not trust her to not pick these things and solve these problems like a normal amputee for a week, let alone years. I didn't know about the limb getting all weird and misshapen without compression, so perhaps that will prevent her from ever getting prosthetics.
 
I think unfortunately you’re correct, that prosthetics would just provide almost endless opportunities for fucked up self-inflicted injuries. Tons of tragic “my legs don’t fit anymore bc bechets randomly ate my knees uwu so sads” posts.

cmon Kelley, get really buff arms from learning to walk on your hands. You’ll get lots of attention for something actually kinda cool.

Powerlevel but for me looking down at my calf and seeing a hole the size of a quarter would have been a nightmare.

If only there were some way she could have avoided this, perhaps through a series of choices and personal decisions she could have made over a long period of time.

But alas, the fates were cruel.
 
This will keep her busy for a while. She finally managed to have something be truly wrong with her, something that can be seen and not doubted. No doctor or psych will turn her away now which is what she wants. I bet she will drag out the prosthetics thing for months/years until she fucks up that possibility as well. Once the wheelchair becomes her only option and doctors and PT can't do anything more for her, she'll be back to her old MO.
 
I sincerely hope nobody sees her scooting down the street, assumes she got her legs blown off serving in Afghanistan or something, and treats her with deference. Though maybe that would just upset her since it's not part of her dainty girly snowflake narrative.

Although I definitely thought there'd be way more stump-wiggling videos the past few months. Maybe she actually is depressed. But I have to imagine it's more the type of depression like when you're disappointed by a vacation you spent a lot of time saving up money for, rather than the depression of realizing how fucked up her life is. When you live off this kind of constant attention, you need more and more of it, and this was a pretty big hand to play.

IRL attention from medical staff has always been her drug of choice and she'll have been well supplied over the last few months between wound care, physio and follow ups. It's also probably much easier for her to milk sympathy from anyone else she happens to come into contact with now that she has a highly visible disability, no need to make up stories about pimps and cults for the internet when you can flash your jagged stumps at any service worker who has the misfortune of getting stuck talking to you.

I think it's so weird because most doctors/specialists/medical assistants don't seem to care that much, are often assholeish and want to shove you out of their office ASAP so they can get their insurance money and get to the next person on their overfilled schedule. If doctors and specialists are dickish with normies, can't imagine how they treat an obvious munchie.

Idk why anyone would find that kind of stressful time and being disliked, enjoyable.

I recommend medical exam roleplay ASMR videos to munchies like Kelly over getting your fucking legs cut off.

Dang, that hasn’t been my experience at all. Is that a Canadian thing? Then again I haven’t been in and out of medical facilities for picking a hole straight through my leg.

For Kelly, I’d imagine medical personnel is her favorite choice simply because the conditions she’d put herself in ensured she couldn’t be turned away. Her social media gets attention, sure. But no one is forced to pay attention to it and she risks everyone shitting on her stories. Medical personnel have a lower chance of picking apart (pun not intended) her story to her face after the things she’s done to herself. I’m sure they’re well aware of what she does, but she’s in so often I doubt there’s much they can do.

I'm in the USA. I've been around a lot of doctors/specialists/hospitals, but probably not as much on a 1 on 1 basis as someone like a cancer patient or munchie like Kelly would. When a doctor is bad, they are bad. I have lots of stories of doctors screaming at and abusing nurses and techs, making patients cry, ignoring patient concerns, forgetting procedure, etc. In my personal opinion, most doctors finish the hell that is medical school and then don't ever update their knowledge to current day and rely on their school days knowledge. In this way, old doctors can be shittier than younger doctors. Beware doctors that seem to take abnormal pride in how they look. "Hot" doctors are likely to be narcissistic assholes.

When a doctor is good, they still come off as quite rushy and trying to finish the appointment. It may have to do with the type of insurance a person has and how busy the medical office is. Medicaid (state-covered poor people) doctors lean towards shitty. Medicare (disability/old people) doctors are less shitty, but I've seen shitty ones. Private insurance doctors can also be shitty. I don't know how it works for a country without medical insurance BS.
