I'm pretty sure I've been seeing videos of Arnold shit-talking Trump specifically on Facebook for weeks now, if not longer.

Pretty sure if shit-talking Trump made you "not a Republican" the Republicans would be like 20% of this country max.

But AnOnimous is right, a California Republican isn't a traditional Republican. They're either extremely moderate, almost left-leaning, or they're the far right don't take my guns type (the eastern part of the state which everyone forgets about)
 
One of my family members actually defended this whole shitshow, saying that Ted Nugent called for Trump's death but got invited to the White House for dinner.

Comparing shit doesn't help--she joked about murdering a sitting president. That just isn't something you do.

Almost all of my extended family is crying out for poor Kathy who ain't done nothing wrong, and hoping she do good from now on. Ironically the only one's in my family who are appalled at her are the actual Syrian immigrants who think joking about cutting off someones head will result in more violence.

I hate Kathy griffin, anda picture of her holding up trumps severed head is not my idea of comedy gold, especially when it's coming from the kind of lefty comic that would loudly bitch if someone else did it to her personal political figure of choice, but what I hate most is how quickly she folded and backtracked when the faux outrage brigade jumped on board. She should have stuck with her guns because it was a joke, just a retarded one, and the rest of the world should have just told her she's an unfunny hack for the millionth time then gone on with their day.

I dunno. I agree with you in principal, I think the bigger problem is that there wasn't actually a joke. Like cutting off someone's head isn't a joke itself. It could be a punchline maybe, but a punchline without a setup isn't a joke, it's just you being a goon.

I agree that it was a weak excuse for a joke and she was probably looking more for political asspats
than laughs, but the same can be said for everything she has ever done. Only this time people are mega pissed and acting like she is some kind of threat to national security. She doesn't deserve any attention either way. We had almost managed to forget about her, then she does one dumb thing and suddenly she is relevant again.
The moral outrage over someone as unimportant as Kathy Griffin is way more hilarious than anything she has ever done.

If she's didn't start immediately groveling and apologizing after CBS gave her the boot it would have been a lot funnier. Now it's just sad.

Edit: Also the whole boo-hoo, poor me, Trump is harassing me, etc shit was bad too. If she was going for a "joke" like this, she should've expected the backlash and kept her mouth shut

I seriously think she expected Trump to react in a more immature fashion and the whole "woe is me, he broke me" bit was pre-planned. She probably expected him to insult her the same way he does people like Rosie O'Donnell, and when his response instead was "this is extremely inappropriate and hurting my children" she didn't have anything to fall back on.

She tried to bait him for attention and to gain victim points and when that failed wound up looking like an ass to pretty much everyone.
 
I agree it was definitely attention bait.

Then again the guys who lynched Obama in effigy weren't joking and stuck by their shit afterwards. They weren't z-list actors though
 
In the late 90s Kathy Griffin was your average comic, you'd see her cameo in Roseanne and family matters and shit, she was a regular on d list celeb shit like Hollywood squares. Then suddenly she decided to career change, she found her gay niche, shit talking about celebrities to gay men. She actually did pretty well I will give her credit. She was d list, knew it and rode it to moderate success, she probably feels like she's loosing the spot light and decided to try something crazy

If she had stuck to her guns and doubled down on her right to freedom of expression, it would be easier to defend and respect her. But she pussied out like a total bitch and completely muddled her response to the internet outrage machine, so now she rightfully gets shit on by people on both side of the issue.
 
It has been very silent on her end. A quick search of google & twitter still shows many people & political commentators still foaming at the mouth for her hide. She did show up on Dr. OZ in what I assume was a non-controversial family friendly effort to rehabilitate her public image in one of the few outlets willing to put her one air.
