I remember someone finding some posts she made an entrepreneur forum about wanting to live close to her parents and barring that FL for advantageous business reasons but it was Phil who demanded Seattle for weather/tech scene reasons.
Does anyone else remember this?
Late, but yes. Phil pushed for Washington State because his aunt - the one that gave him gout - was from there and used to praise Washington State and Seattle. If my lore is correct, it was his aunt, I believe it was his mom's side and his uncle on his dad's side that were the only relatives west of the Mississippi. However, his uncle got into some legal trouble and he was pretty much disowned, but he stayed in Arizona. That and he wanted to move to Washington state because he heard that there were no personal state income tax, but FAILED to realized that Washington state has a B&O tax, along with some of the highest sales and property taxes in the country.
All of Phil's relatives stayed in CT or moved down to Florida. Leanna originally wanted to move down to Florida, because she wanted to be closer to her family, along with more job opportunities than what Allentown had to offer. Phil used to bitch and moan he didn't have room in his mature adult condo in Bridgeport, because all that gamer shit took importance and Phil wanted out of CT for whatever reason. He used to bitch how he hated the weather, the taxes, etc....They're fair points, BUT he ALWAYS had a hate boner for the Northeast besides those points. Least Leanna had a fair point that she wanted out of Allentown because of jobs and she hated her homelife, but even her own family used to joke about why she couldn't date a guy her own age.
That said, my mentally ill theory was another reason why he picked Washington was to get Leanna as FAR away from her family and to isolate her from her support system. What Phil didn't realize was that once Phil told Leanna she would have to get a mature adult job, that was the quarter inch crack that broke the dam. Once Leanna started making friends locally, especially that couple she met at work, they showed her "Hey, what you have with this weirdo isn't healthy. You need to get out now." Which they essentially helped her become the person she is now.
I know to get that mature adult job at Edward Jones as a branch manager, it takes more than a GED to get there, as you need at LEAST an Associates degree and/or almost finished with your Bachelors degree to get even your toe in for a interview. She looks happy and I'm happy for Panda.
