I honestly didn't even realize that until now. The streaming age has really fucked up what a hit is. His last real hit was either a random track with Paul McCartney and Rihanna in 2015 or shit from Cruel Summer in 2012 lol

Kanye’s last big hit was Power back in 2010. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was generally considered his comeback album, which showed that by 2010, many people thought he was a has been already.

"Power" actually didn't chart that well, despite being in a lot of shit at that time. It was more critically acclaimed than commercially. Before the streaming era really took off and gassed up the entire industry's numbers with random bullshit, "Four, Five Seconds" was his last hit or "Mercy".

Kanye West and Drake are reportedly back to “beefing” again over social media
Recently, it all started when Drake did a guest verse on rising rap star Trippie Redd’s recent album, Trip At Knight. The song was their first ever collaboration, and it was titled Betrayal:
What set off this beef was a subliminal lyric that Drake said regarding Kanye’s (and possibly Pusha T’s) age:
Some have claimed that it was diss towards Kanye trolling Drake over the years with his classic Lift Yourself song that was originally supposed to be a song made for Drake. It was during the time Kanye and Pusha T were still making music, even though Pusha in the past made a scathing diss about him.
Because of this, Kanye took the offensive and later posted this to Drake in a group chat message, while also using the famous Joker meme:
After that, he later posted, then deleted what appeared to be Drake’s home address, which turned out to be in Toronto:
Because of this, Drake later responded with just a laugh:
Either way, one can speculate that Kanye might be doing this as tactical way for Drake to release his album Certified Lover Boy to see if he is releasing it on the same day, or next month that Kanye may (or may not be) releasing DONDA. All in all, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.
Speaking of DONDA, Kanye is reportedly working with builders to recreate his childhood home for the upcoming livestream listening release inside Soldier Field stadium in Chicago. The listening event is still on record to happen on Thursday, August 26th.

Prince did his shit as a protest to the record company fucking with his royalties and his song writing credits, which he ended up getting back in court, hence he stopped using the symbol.

My theory is that he's/was popular because he symbolized what most brain dead hiphop niggas (and wiggas) wished they could be: a loud stupid asshole with "fuck you money" meaning he can say whatever deranged shit he wants with little consequence, and on top of the money he's also banging a brown chick with a disgusting fat ass.

Kanye's peak was without a doubt MBDTF (but my personal favorite either being Graduation or 808s). Yeezus he was obviously on the decline but it was still a great album regardless. TLOP was basically his last gasp of good shit, and Ye and Jesus is King are both unlistenable.
The man might be a musical genius and perhaps the greatest musician of the 21st century so far, but he is still batshit crazy regardless. I take it that the deterioration in quality of his albums reflects the deterioration of his mental state as well. Ye wants so badly to be the next Michael Jackson but unlike MJ his perfectionism has completely fucked him up.
As a huge fan of Kanye's works, I feel for the man on a personal level with his mind just slowly slipping away through the years thanks to the death of his mother, but he needs a break from the public badly.
