They don't mention China or India at all, infact I don't think the european lot mention America either. Could well be that they're funded by big oil in order to make anti-oil seem cringeworthy (It's working!). Could also be that these people are retarded brainlets, products of an education system that hates Western nations and seeks to weaken them.

I saw once there was a few trying to block a busy Italian road and the motorists including a young woman in a summer dress just dragged the soy boys off the road. Br*ts do try, but anyone interacting with them physically stands a good chance that the local police service will wage lawfare on people interfering with these officially Protected Annoying Persons. Sometimes really annoying people need handling, but a fella has to be prudent. Firing fireworks on those beardies was probably safe, but if a police officer is nearby boy anyone trying to manhandle one of the Protected Annoying Persons could have their lives ruined if the protester wants to press charges.

I believe I could make the case that getting someone out of the middle of the road was for their own good.
 
I see these as a sort of MLM cult / pyramid scheme which Aileen Getty et al fund as 'green economy' green from Uncle Sam and other Western govts is just so utterly lucrative (the Getty Foundation is betting heavily on it). The cultists will believe but Aileen is probably chauffeured about in a 2 stroke Skoda or something ungreen, yet against that, these people are annoying and have to be so to stay in the cult. It's hardly aiding the green cause. Maybe the ruling class just want a cadre of mindless dupes or just strangle the right of free assembly to nothing using these as a pretext.

They claim it's because they got arrested for doing so in the past. Which is demonstrably false as:

1) There is no evidence of them having done so, as far as I'm aware, and speakers on behalf of JSO refuse to provide any.

2) They clearly do not care about being arrested as they continue to get arrested for trespassing and blocking traffic, but for some mysterious reason the same charges from the oil companies they protest spooks them.

An important thing to note is that these individuals also get extremely defensive when confronted by the fact they are bankrolled by the granddaughter of a major oil company executive, yet they curiously do not deny it. Instead they always blame the Daily Mail for that information and bring up an uncited pie chart of their financial income (which is dubious anyway because this bankrolling can be claimed as a "donation"). The fact they will do so promptly and invariably tell me this is something they are paranoid about hiding and have conditioned their activists to respond this way, which you wouldn't do unless it was true.

They absolutely have been arrested for protesting oil refineries. Probably the biggest most well known one was the Kingsbury terminal protests about a year ago where a whole bunch of them got arrested because the local council had gotten an injunction after their previous stunt there.

If you're wondering how much of an impact this stunt had on the tournament: Given the time between that last tweet and this one announcing the tournament was resuming, it took them about 30-50 minutes to go straight back to what they were doing.

If they are not willing to be arrested over and over again, using their arrests and days in court to spread the message, then they either don't actually think that this is a matter of life or death in our lifetime as they claim, or they are okay with dying in a climate disaster but not with going to jail.
