I agree with this and add that they do not seem to offer any real solutions or actually understand the issue. Just stop oil lol! It’s simple, right?

It’s like they don’t understand that if we, for example, we’re to switch to 100% electric vehicles that oil demand would still exist. The process of cracking at oil refineries produces a shit ton of products from bunker fuel (for ships) to butane. These products are found in asphalt, plastics, medicine, lubricants, waxes, and so on. It’s use in an absurd amount of everyday life things. Modern society cannot function without it, period. There is no “just stopping oil” without repercussions that would be worse than what it is trying to fix.

The point of removing petrol cars is for air pollution, removing oil contracts is because most oil is used by a select number of global companies and removing oil useage by individuals does nothing.

Some of what they say is correct but:
- It's very city centric and yet they want to legislate for the whole country, anywhere but london has good air quality but they want to ban gas cars for everyone.
- They are mislead with statistics that the world is going to be irreversibly damaged by 2050 if THEIR demands aren't met while using models that use worst case scenarios that exist without any current government intervention.
- There's no proof that a rise of 1 degree in global temperature in 50 years isn't a natural trend that humans can't change, any scientist that points this out is blacklisted.
- Every higher up in any of these organisations NEVER risks anything and happily collect donations and corporate speaking arrangements while young people are mislead and forced to get arrested just to serve the rich elites that run their organisation.

I would like to note 3 things from this video:

1. The bus driver should be looking for a much higher paying job because he’s smart as hell. He called their bluff. They’re all afraid of getting run over by a vehicle in the end. No real dedication to the cause.

2. If I was fighting in an apocalyptic scenario as these activists think they are I’d try to be in much better shape. They can’t even keep up with the bus for 100 yards.

3. If you look at the back of the bus near the end of the video, these fucks have opened up the rear luggage compartment of the bus. Why would they do this unless they were trying to fuck around with the bus itself which gives lie to their nonviolent protest stance.

There's absolutely zero chance this is an organic movement, or one that is isn't at least endorsed by the (((government))).
Any organization that was actually a threat to the order would've been cracked down on long before it could get this big.

plus, the railways in large parts of GB (northern and south-western England, most of Wales and Scotland) still run on diesel, lines can't easily be electrified due to a multitude of Victorian-era low bridges and tunnels - guess people there will just have to stay at home, or move to London

I remember reading in class about the suffragists throwing themselves onto British race tracks and getting trampled to death in protest of societal inequities and thinking that, even if I would have disagreed with them, their actions necessarily commanded respect. These crybabies are among the biggest self-victimizers out there. If you truly believe in your cause, you should be fine with actually suffering for it. Go throw yourself into the machinery of an oil refinery and maybe I'll think your group has something worth listening to. This type of performative shit is just pathetic, and I think everyone outside their little cult feels that way.
 
Not Just Stop Oil, but some French "climate activist" group threw soup on the Mona Lisa at the Louvre yesterday.

Apparently they're whining about the "right to healthy and sustainable food" or something. There's also a farmers protest happening in France right now regarding low wages, so they're piggybacking on that. One of the girls shouted "What’s the most important thing? Art, or right to a healthy and sustainable food?" because that's totally a sound statement.

I thought it was worth sharing here even if it's not JSO. Has soup throwing always been a thing or has JSO popularized it?

I imagine they're just the type of people who feel a sense of thrill from committing childish crimes things like petty vandalism. They just wanted an excuse to feel righteous for doing such things, no matter how flimsy it is.

Same reason why antifa and BLM love to loot businesses including mom-and-pop shops. It's pretty damn shallow when you really look at it.
