Oh sweetheart, that is why they offer cooking courses in highschool (dunno about middle school cause where I grew up we didn't have one). Culinary teachers give you the proper run down on food prepping and the dos and don'ts in the kitchen. Clearly your parents did an awful job teaching you when you don't use a cutting board to chop up veggies for a salad. That goes to show that not all parents can teach their kids how to properly make food.

Also, making a sandwich, salad, or snacks is not hard. You throw a bunch of ingredients together in minutes and you are done. Even a child can make a simple peanut butter and jam sandwich. I wouldn't exactly brag about being self taught on how to make the most simplest of meals.....

I had mandatory family studies courses in middle school where we were taught cooking and sewing. I can't imagine things are that different in her part of the country.

Nah man dental isn't covered here, however a GOOD portion of workplaces do offer some kind of dental benefits, even a Timmies job.

Except in dire circumstances like a wisdom tooth extraction, only when it starts to mess with your health.......This last statement could be completely mistaken btw.
Sorry if I am power levelling here but I can vouche for Timmy's plan. I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted when I was 22 because they become a nuisance (painful to eat, headaches, etc) and had the medical/dental plan with Tim Hortons. The plan covered about 80% of my dental expenses and from what I remember my total cost was around $100ish. Dental is unfortunately not covered in Canada but almost every minimum wage job will typically give you a good plan. And in the case of a job not offering it you can buy a dental plan from insurance companies like Pacific Blue Cross for affordable prices. ;)

Don't know what it's like in Ontario but, from my experience, in British Columbia 8th graders would take a "sampler" course of everything they had from metal works to drama class for two weeks each. Then when you are picking your courses for grade 9 year and beyond you can pick and choose what you want to take for extracurricular classes.

Huh, that sounds nothing like Nova Scotia. The way it was done in my school was that for half the year, half of the class did family studies, the other half did industrial arts. Had a few units during the period, and then halfway through the school year, switch to the other subject.

Maybe in b.c where you are from, but not me. From grade 6 onward we chose 3 of those types of course a year. Then in grade 11, one that was career prep (such as art or trades). Also, those benifets aren't common for timmie hos where I'm from.

Oh wow, that is completely different than what my school did. I guess it varies in each Province? Did you guys have something called CAPP? I can't remember what it stands for but it was basically a required course that you had to take every year starting at grade 8 and they would teach you about basic life skills such as sex ed and how to write up resumes when looking for a job.

Edit: I just remembered what CAPP stands for; Career and Personal Planning.

They introduced a mandatory Grade 10 level course a few years ago that sounds similar to that. The sex-ed stuff, at least at the high school level, was mixed in with the Phys. Ed classes. In middle school it was it's own class.

As far as i know, shed princess went to a special school for well, people mote like her, so the normal Canadian curriculum may not factor in. Obviously they did a shit job, as she has no life skills whatsoever

Really.....? That is odd. I know that you have a 3 month probation before you can get benefits but it is weird that only certain Provinces can get it.
Maybe because the shop I managed was under an union umbrella with several other restaurants.

Ohhhh that makes sense. I worked at branch store. Correct me if I am wrong but if a fast food joint has a spot in say a shopping mall's food court they don't offer benefits to the workers (I worked at Dairy Queen in a mall and wasn't offered any benefits). I think it is because their employees are generally teens who still live with their parents.

Last I'll quote because I don't want to derail this train wreck.
so no, Timmy's in our area doesn't offer medical or dental. Ours had it purely because of the union.

So here we see Cheri looking happy, and Julie looking like the soul-less/mindless fuckdoll she essentially is.

Empty inside. Truly empty.

Cheri looks baked. Which, I guess having a daughter like that isn't a terrible way to deal with her presence. Then again, if she had raised her decently...

So she's trying to findom, but she won't findom?
Keep on keepin on, tardbro Terryberry.

No.
That isn't a thing in Ontario.

-edit-
I mean, there's Home Economics (I don't know what the new pro-feminist name is, it's cooking and sewing and lady bullshit though), and Shop, ie. metal working, welding etc.
You have to take one of each in grade 8, but that's it.
Sex Ed is worked into the PE classes.

They look like the white trash version of American Gothic.

I can see why they dressed up though. Chinese places that serve margaritas and have the menu under the table top are very classy.
