I have returned home to Toronto after spending much of the last eighteen months in hospitals. I am hoping that my health has improved to the point where I can start producing original content again. Thank you to all who are watching for your support over the course of this trying time. I hope that you all are coping with the COVID crisis successfully. Man, he has aged a decade. It's painful to watch.

The pauses are a bit worring he used to be slow and incoherent sometimes but this is a whole new level.
Also love the way he frames the Benzo addiction as a double mistake by taking it and then stopping using it.
I don't know if I am clear but it makes it look like he had no choice.
Either he takes something bad for him or he can stop using Benzos which is also a bad idea.
He forgot the third option which is not miss-using meds in the first place.

In the end tho he did a 12 rules for life world tour of hospitals

I wish him well we all love a good comeback story like Kardashian but I don't think he's strong enough to reclaim his prior succes since he lacks credibility when giving advices now

He's seriously struggling to speak normally. It's very jutted. Basically looks like he's on the verge of tears.

I guess it could be that he hasn't lectured or spoken publicly for a long time and maybe it will take him some time to get back on the horse, but it isn't looking good.

His thoughts could have been interesting and useful in our current covid time, but he's been so disconnected from the world at large for so long, and he has to rebuild all these neurological parts of himself again; like his ability to lecture and speak publicly, or his ability to analyze a problem from multiple angles, all of that seems lost.

I don't see how the current Peterson can successfully navigate into the current world with his current abilities. Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but that's not a good start in the slightest.

I still can't get over the fact that he (or his dim witted daughter) ever thought it was a good idea to leave Canada for any kind of medical issues, frankly.

Especially to go to some shit hole country for help.

So many horrifically stupid decisions.

His bible analysis stuff that he's planning to do is just not that interesting to me. I agree with his conceptualization that there is useful knowledge in the symbolism of old works, but I'm not sure I need to spend hours with him digging through it all at this point.

The cadence of his speech is slightly, but distinctly, odd. Messiah complex or no, I think JBP is a good person, and I hope that he puts himself in a setting where he can recover, as opposed to launching into some big public endeavor that will probably end in embarrassment.

I can't lie, though; it is a little heartwarming to see him back in one of those odd suits he seems so fond of.

Yeah NGL I dig that jacket.

It's weird to go back and watch his appearances on Joe Rogan in the past couple years and know he was hopped up on drugs.

I still think a lot of his ideas and thoughts are useful and valuable even if he didn't necessarily follow them himself. But yeah it's gonna take him a long time to get back credibility because the drug stuff will taint him.

When his wife got cancer and needed his support the most he started popping benzos because he was stressed and developed a crippling dependency. The guy made millions selling life advice and self help books but when his cushy life got just a bit too real for him he starting doping himself out of his worries. Ironically he is a psychologist who rely on talk therapy and typically can't prescribe drugs while MDs and psychologists can. For his withdraws to be so bad after just a few years of use he must've been taking a long acting benzo like Klonopin and in doses that a normal person (who doesn't have fellow doctor friends) probably wouldn't have received.

And Mr. Lifecoach didn't have the fortitude to taper off over 6 months to a year in a treatment center. The "treatment" he took in Russia was getting put into a medically induced coma and quitting hard turkey so he wouldn't be conscious to suffer through withdraws. I don't know this for a fact but this treatment was probably developed to sober up people with severe alcohol dependency. At any rate it risks brain damage and you can tell from how much he has to pause in his speech that he hasn't completely recovered.

Benzos are no joke. I hope he takes all the time he needs to recover. He's aged A LOT. Quite sad. I think he's as human as the rest of us when it comes to stuff like the love of your life dying and trying to cope/survive; following our own advice is difficult at the best of times.

Yeah, the unspoken part about heroes is that there aren't that many of them. Peterson failed like many other tragic figures in history.

He's gone. Those pauses and constant looking towards his upper right are telling as all hell.
Sad to see the man who did more than anyone else to get me to view Christianity in a more nuanced way self-destruct in such a manner. Anyone else notice how much he focused his "support" thanks on anyone besides his daughter?

It's fucking ironic that the worst grifting self help guru, still can't admit he got an addiction issue. No, he had an issue when "he started and then stopped taking benzos". :story:

Thanks daddy Peterson, I guess when I was slamming OxyContin for years I didn't really have an addiction problem, it was an issue of having been them prescribed to me and taking them, then stopping them.

Also, yes, his brain is fried. You don't go cold turkey from Benzos, like you don't go cold turkey from alcohol. If you do it's a one way trip to dementia. No sane psychiatrist in a non shithole country would advocate for a coma induced withdrawal from benzos in 2020.

If you translate the PR speech in his video, what he actually says is: "I popped benzos like candies, then because I'm daddy Peterson and I'm some kind of internet big deal, I didn't comply with true and tested protocols of Benzo withdrawal in luxury clinics because I'm such a pussy I can't handle the long, miserable dread that is Benzo tapering. So instead, I chose to go to a third world country to go for what I perceived as the easiest way out, but in the end, I just got my brain fried."

You can't get more based and benzopilled than that.

I'd disagree about his credibility. He's got a more in depth insight into problems of addiction now, and hopefully speaks honestly and openly about it. It'll make him even more credible to any discerning listener.
While the hypertroon brigade and their lackeys will constantly harp about his credibility being damaged beyond repair, it bears noting that they relish mental illness and addiction, wearing them like campaign medals. I for one will not validate their hypocritical slurs. I lived near JBP for the entirety of his rise. Every week I'd rip down probably 100 libellous posters they put up around his home/nearby. I was at the 1st protest etc. The left tried their very damnedest to kill this great man, and nearly succeeded. He deserves to be supported in his recovery, if only to spite the crazed left and their troons.

In the topic of credibility :slayer:
I'm in. I've jerked off to her[Mikhaila] before, and found it was satisfying. I like the shape of her mouth. Like a sexy little rosebud. Will report back.
I am sorry but I can't read your message seriously when I have this post in mind
Yup. She's still as sexy. Mission accomplished. I feel drained. Literally.
And the follow up is nice a happy ending if I might say so

Jordan Peterson has always had a stilted yet thoughtful gate to his speech, and a sort of weepy tone when he's in contemplation. He's someone who cares, and is likely struggling to gain a semblance of the prior control he used to pride himself so much on, looking back at a horrifying black smudge in his life. If you care, pray for the man, if you don't, get your 7 laughs in and move on.
