2/5 of the county i live in is african american, some of them as 'backward' as the gullahs, who ain't moved in 3 centuries, a self-selected group very entrenched in their ways that never migrated to the next county, much less up north. once got in big argument with a Canadian who was calling me racist for not wanting immigrants taking my wife's job (which did happen). i asked him about Canada & he didn't seem to know the immigration laws. i told him they must not be used too much, because everybody in USA sure knows the immigration laws.

To give a little insight, and flex my powerlevel, I live in alberta. We have a conservative government here. And we did for 44 years till NDP got voted in. Here, conservative means one thing and one thing only. $$$. We removed the government pricing guide for dental work, price shot up higher than anywhere else in canada. Maybe even the world, per median household income. They want to do that with our hospitals, after cutting funding multiple times then wondering why hospital services aren't so good. $4.6 billion tax cut/refund for large companies, then complained about the deficit. Now we are having this oil crisis and that's where all our money comes from. Canadian Conservative means nothing more than "give me fucking money".

It depends on what you consider skilled I guess, but the majority of arab immigrants where I grew up ended up working the trades or running their own construction companies. Mind you that was years ago and I can't comment on what things are like now.

People far smarter than me have said this before, but the problem with the immigration system in Canada is that while we are lacking in some job sectors that we desperately need more people in (healthcare being the big one) due to regulations immigrants can't work in said fields due to the fact that they don't have a Canadian education.

I remember seeing a story on the news about a Syrian refugee who was a fully licensed and experienced doctor, but he couldn't actually work as a doctor here without going back to university (which he couldn't afford to do because he had kids). So basically the everyday tax payer is paying for Trudeau to bring in refugees that are legally not allowed to give anything useful to the country even if they can.

Crime, drug use, lack of morals in general sort of stuff, but we "protect" them. Every time someone brings up "yeah but residential schools" I bring up people in modern days killing innocent people for nothing, commiting the most crime, or even being dumb enough to try and defraud the government while putting yourself and your finances in the spot light. One thing everyone needs to realize about canada, including peterson, is the most beautiful part of our country is the country itself. We have enough natural resources that we could just cut off our borders and dark, and still thrive as a people. Not many countries can do that, yet no one brings it up. It's only through economic agreement we trade and support other countries. Maybe close the global banks here and see what happens. Just a thought.
