Why didn't he pray the benzo's away? That's what he himself claimed is how you deal with addiction. Why go to Russia? But then you look at the artwork in his house, which nation's writers he recommends, who he named his daughter after, and then it struck me. Russia is his god and that's why he knows people wouldn't get him if he professed his belief.

Russia was one of the few countries to retain it's religious identity during the enlightenment (even today it's still a very religious country despite communism and what-not) and this is heavily reflected in Russian literature from the period. Particularly Dostoyevsky. Humanitarian belief was widely accepted by Russia's intellectual elite but far differently than the rest of Europe-Christianity and Christian values were not heavily criticized or attacked, but instead embraced.

For example, The Brothers Karamazov, one of the most famous pieces of Russian literature, is basically about how Orthodox Christian morality plays a key role in structure and good virtue on an individual and societal level.

With all of that being said, it's certainly not hard to see why all of this would be attractive to Peterson, who is a very religious academic type with a focus on philosophy and politics.

Depending on your definition of "scam".

Was it planned like this from the start? No, I don't think so.
Is she trying to salvage a FUBAR situation to the best of her meager abilities? My money's on that one. Like one of those stories where people keep receiving a dead relative's disability or pension checks. Where this mediocre never-was THOT runs with it is a different question.

Good old Kermit B. Kermitson is probably alive, and mostly responsive. Worst case scenario: he's mentally exceptional now, in a certified way. Best case scenario: his condition is improving, but slowly. He was a husk of a man in that first picture, taken when they couldn't even dress him up properly. In the next one, IIRC taken on the Red Square, he looked much more like a proper human.

Something feels very off to me about this whole thing. For one, I have a hard time believing that Jordan Peterson in his right mind would allow someone above the age of like 5 to put makeup on him and take a picture. With how connected he seemed before, it seems like he would have addressed people himself by now and let them know he's okay. I could be totally wrong but I feel like his daughter his exploiting him and he's in worse shape than she's letting on.

He does have a son as well. Part of me wonders if she's trying to take advantage of their parents knocking at death's door by getting some changes made to their wills while they're not in their right minds. She definitely comes across as the type to do something like that. Hell, could possibly be another common situation. She's just there to be primary caretaker so she can have direct access to his money and get bonus attention. That happens a lot to parents when they get really sick or they start losing their mental faculties. I myself have a family member that took full advantage of her mother dying, her father falling into grief, and his mind starting to go. She made herself primary caretaker and has total control of his finances. Won't even hardly let anyone else near him. She's about bled him dry (his valuable possessions keep mysteriously vanishing as well) and when he dies, there will be nothing left for her siblings. I'm kind of leaning toward this being the outcome for Peterson.

Jordan's philosophies are actually very Canadian. Not Canadian in a sense of what the world ''knows of Canada'' (which is false) but Canadian in the sense of how typical Canadian Conservatives think. Much of what Canada is able to get away with is because of the large existence of majority white and middle class people. Even immigration is carefully honed and skill based which is designed to keep poor people out. Immigrant families who have disabled kids are even deported from Canada (child diagnosed with autism etc.). Women aren't prominent in politics in Canada and they have little clout period.

Jordan may want Americans to clean up their own mess but he fails to understand the cultural differences. Again - Canada is a country with a majority white middle class, America has many generational poor minority groups who can't or won't do that for various reasons. His ''rules for life'' are written more for a middle class Canadian guy than anyone else. They may seem like ''great'' idea to some in countries like the U.S, but they're not applicable.

2/5 of the county i live in is african american, some of them as 'backward' as the gullahs, who ain't moved in 3 centuries, a self-selected group very entrenched in their ways that never migrated to the next county, much less up north. (you can't even understand most of them, goes way beyond "ebonics" -which mostly signals urban)

this is why Southerners consider social programs a blight, it seems to have left them more, not less, entrenched in poverty (true for southern poor whites also).
btw: when yankees talk about immigration, they mean muslims. when southerners talk about immigration, they mean Mexicans, Guatemala, Honduras, etc. you see how quickly communication can break down, when ppl talkin abt 2 diff things.

once got in big argument with a Canadian who was calling me racist for not wanting immigrants taking my wife's job (which did happen). i asked him about Canada & he didn't seem to know the immigration laws. i told him they must not be used too much, because everybody in USA sure knows the immigration laws.

To be fair, a lot of Canadians don't know our immigration laws. They think immigration into Canada is a slice of pie and that we are colour blind/culturally mosaic. They have not a clue. Africans are deliberately kept out of Canada, I could link some articles talking about ''how'' but basically it comes down to wait listing their application and telling them they're not educated/skilled/financially stable enough to come to Canada. The preference for many years has been wealthy mainland Chinese.
