It's not hard to figure out what happened. When you put someone in a coma you reduce the volume/minute of blood the heart can pump out. Directly from that you'll reduce the total blood flow to the brain (TBFTB). Reducing TBFTB is always risky, and messing with the brain stem through chemicals is never %100 safe.

Were Peterson to be in a weak immune state from all the stress of detox and catch I dunno a pneumonia, the total oxigen a person gets through lungs is diminished. Diminished oxigen uptake + a reduced volume/minute of blood and TBFTB, means the brain is getting A LOT less oxigen ---> Brain damage. And the very ugly kind if this was prolonged.

It's obvious she wants to wash off the responsibility of this stupid decision.

And Holy shit! I remembered something! I don't know if you guys watched Dr. House, but in the episode where his leg is has a clot (the origin of his pain) he asked to be put in a medically induced coma to be able to sleep through the pain. If this hoe got the idea of a coma from doctor house... :story: :story::story:

My boyfriend went cold turkey off them a long time ago and had a seizure, could have suffered brain damage.

That kind of seizure doesn't cause brain damage of the extent that the daughter describes. Most dangerous seizures happen after a stroke or serious head trauma (and mostly due to the injurious nature of them. Seizing is just a secondary symptom.)

In most cases just having a seizure for a minute or two because of brain nerves going haywire from detox won't turn you into a vegetable. It'll stop and if you are in a hospital, you'll quickly get stabilized and medicated.

Good point. I think he was always just weird. He was under under unofficial medical care at the time too (roommate was a nurse and caring for him).


I feel bad for JayPee. I think he's a depressed sexist undercover white nationalist BUT I find his lectures interesting and socially relevant at least.

If that's what happened to him his condition is most likely way worse. The question is how much of a vegetable is he really?

If I were to speculate, I'd say that the Jordan Peterson we all knew is probably gone. Perhaps an adumbration of the man will remain, but forget about public speaking or interviews or any kind of production from the man ever again.

Why so bad? Well there are some useful hints in my opinion.

-A quote from Peterson didn't appear. For example his daughter could have said "My dad told me he feels tired/weak/whatever" So even if Peterson is speaking, he might be saying one or two words and not thinking straight.
-A photo of him giving a thumbs up and smiling hasn't appeared, to calm down his fans. Most public people do that after they are okay to do so.
-Didn't leave the hospital yet. No ambulatory care suggested.
-Taking a week to lift up your arms is a fucking a big deal.
-Daughter seems absolutely terrified and has fed us nothing but disjointed PR bullshit. An interviewer should press up on her better.

I'm really worried about who will fill the vaccuum if he really is gone for good. People are socially pretty lost rn as society separates out further and further into more discrete socioeconomic and political bubbles and society eats its own. At least Peterson could rally people who weren't on long unaffordable liberal arts education tracks to understand or even CONSIDER some deeper life truths. We need *something* for society and the soul in the Marvel/Netflix/Trump era.

I am familiar with the study, but like all studies that have results that seem to be "too good to be true", it is, in fact, too good to be true.

See the replication crisis. I made a post a week ago saying that the result from last decade that conservatives have a more robust disgust mechanism seemed to fall into this category, and literally on 10 Feb, Nature published an article saying that this was found to be unable to be replicated.

Or look at the "candidate gene" fiasco (alcoholism! obesity! homosexuality!), where, prior to GWAS, every so called candidate gene study ended up being basically all utter unmitigated bullshit.

I'm rambling, of course.

Peterson wasn't doing these people any better. What deeper life truths was he rallying them to understand? To clean your room and wash your dick?
 
JP has a lot of problems or whatever but who cares if people want to send him $20 or whatever for a fucking personality test. there are worse scams and worse guru's out there and ultimately I think that his problems come mostly from his fanbase. if he were still teaching classes and had no audience, no one would care that he only eats meat or has some strange quirks.

I guess I just feel like I have to defend him somewhat because of the knee-jerk mainstream/leftwing bullshit that follows him around. Ultimately he stood up against a bullshit pronoun law in my cuck country and I do appreciate it

Americans can sometimes be fucking Rocketman gay. They have virtues but one of their downsides is the necessity to make everything into a "comunity" and have "followers". What the fuck is wrong with people saying they are a "follower" of someone? Like non-ironically. I do read JP's youtube video comments and it sounds like cultist shit. Peterson just tapped a very juicy vein of American need of a big pastor/father figure.

I know he's a leaf, but he did manage to cash in on that sweet sweet share of the US self help market.

I didn't recognize it the first time, but the more I watch his hour long video crying, the more I see how high he was. Just look at his lost gaze, and his half opened eyes. Plus the rambling and rattling. Most of us who have seen someone in downers know that look. Now that I watch I feel deeply sad again. (:_(
