I'm extremely disappointed in you guys. All this talk of Peterson-ianity and no mention of baptism by laying of hands while daddy Peterson washes your penis?

oh boy he sperged big time on being uninvited from Cambridge.

"I wish them the continued decline in relevance over the next few decades that they deeply and profoundly and diligently work toward and deserve. "

Yes, Jordan, 800-year-old institution and one of if not the most prestigious universities ever is going to become irrelevant because a goofy 60 year old neocon isn't going to spend a few months there. lmao

The thing is, it's hard to not be on his side when you've got people like these on the other. The whole thread slowly starts to reveal the true intention of this prestigious university.

I don't get why he's making such a big deal out of it anyway, Cambridge is a garbage chute chock full of wannabe intellectuals, kind of like Peterson himself but with a heavy dose of neo-Marxist theory. He dodged a bullet.

He is a complete loon. Drinking apple cider produced an "overwhelming sense of impending doom" for 25 days. He also claimed to not sleep AT ALL for those 25 days.

Since when does a minor dose of something as innocuous as a sulfite have the ability to emotionally destroy a human being? It's mind boggling that anyone, let alone a supposedly esteemed psychologist, can attribute such dramatic and ongoing psychological symptoms to consuming a particular food ONE time. If sulfites can do this then the military should weaponize them. Need to conquer a country? Just spike their water supply with sulfites and everyone will be incapacitated for a month and you can roll in and take over!

It doesn't occur to this "psychologist" that an "overwhelming sense of impending doom" could be caused by something like repressed memories of childhood abuse rather than APPLE CIDER. How can someone who is perceived as being so smart by so many people, be so fucking dumb?

This. If he took a firm stance, regardless of what it was, he'd alienate part of his limited audience. Dude's just keeping himself marketable.
JBP's audience isn't limited. Just niche.

He left Patreon in 2018, even though he was making six figures a year there; and hasn't shown any interest in coming back, meaning he neither needs nor misses a very lucrative revenue stream. He takes donations directly on his site in over two-dozen currencies from every continent but Antarctica, plus Bitcoin. He's also been a tenured professor since '98, so he's had guaranteed income the entire 21st Century.

Personally, I think he's an atheist, maybe an agnostic or a diest (emphasis on the lack of capitalization for all three of those). But nobody who's been as pickled in postmodernism as JBP stays a Protestant. Only jucier, arbitrarier religions can withstand multiple decades in contemporary academia.

The problem here is that, regardless of how little he buys into the program, Peterson seems to genuinely believe Protestant Christianity is the best religion ever developed. He'll do as much as he can to promote it, no matter how weak his faith is.

And yes, this is exactly as dishonest as it sounds. Plenty of atheists engage in serious religious practice without lying or obfuscating their own views. A.J. Jacobs wrote a book about himself doing exactly this. Peterson's done the opposite, and he'll pay dearly for it one way or another, as those who remember Matthew 7:24 can attest, even if they just heard that story from The Simpsons.

They're murdering people over privilege in the 29th century?

Do you know something we don't, Peterson? How can we prevent this?

That's how I know ole Jordie be a thinker. He's going after privilege that hasn't even happened yet. Real 4d chess player. No fucking around.

Seriously though what was he doing that night? Did he get some shrooms from that tribe he's supposed to be an "honorary member" of? Or did he take another sip of dat apple cider shheeeiit?

Can depend on the bodies reaction to sulphites and other chemicals in foods. Just because it doesn't effect the majority of people doesn't mean it can't have an effect on a individual case.
Power level: for instance if I drink anything heavy on sulphites, it effects the movement of my joints and causes pain the next morning regardless of whether it was a little or a lot, when I drink I have to make the conscious decision to deal with next day it if I'm offered anything with sulphites.

Not saying that some foods can't be hard on some people, but sulphites making you stay awake with a sense of impending doom for 25 days ? I'll put that in the same category as vegans feeling sick and suicidal for 2 weeks because there was a little cream in the sauce.

An extended family member had (probably still has) something similar. Swears he was cured by reiki; which is the exact point I was unable to take him seriously about anything anymore.

The exact point where I was unable to take JBP seriously anymore was when he began his inital "I'm being oppressed!" publicity tour and he spent an hour or two basking in the admiration of a Joe Rogan, a 50+ year old burnout

You know, I've decided to stop listening to anyone who talks about how they're being oppressed as loudly and vigorously as Peterson did, because most of the time they're usually in it for the money.

He's a medical professional. If he actually believed he wasn't sleeping because of an adverse reaction he'd go to the doctor and get some medication to knock him out.

Does this man's greed know no end? He's got more money than he knows what to do with and he still charges people $15 to watch a fucking Livestream.

I don't see the problem when you know that the whole thing is going to be up on 60 different youtube channels within a week. If Peterson was being smart about his situation, he'd get his grad students to cut his multi-hour talks into 5 minute clips for youtube and rake in the youtube money that all these no-name channels are getting from his lectures.
