It‘s surprising how much Peterson fans assume he is a devout Christian just because he talks about the Bible. As far as the Bible goes, he is actually more of a mythologist, more interested in the lessons they give and how they intersect with psychology.

Nobody has ever seen him pray, thank Jesus for his success , or do basic things most Christians do.

Peterson is just a college profesor that happened to rebel Against the initial SJW insanity, Like tumblr made up pronouns and the like, while most people just shrugged and played along.

His hate of socialism and SJW progressivism are the only things he really has in common with conservative religious types.
 
I thought that after his drug addiction he would be humbled. But his Ego has only gotten larger.

Now he is an "expert" in everything. *sigh*

And what on earth are you talking about?? He's been seething about the Liberals since they've been in power and in the last year specifically called out the Conservative party for being spineless and allowing the radicals to drive their policies, most specifically in Ontario with the school system.

Sure, but whenever there is real tangible resistance (like truckers), he is nowhere to be seen. It was the same with bill watkins and the tranny thing; he ignored all people who contacted him about it. Never highlighted it for his audience.

When it comes down to it he always acts like a toady and even said kavanaugh should step down even though he agreed the assaults on his character were unfounded.

Many of his actions and words are against rustling the status quo. At best he says " can we slow down this car a bit?" Never "we should stop driving towards the ravine or else!"

Don’t get me wrong, when it comes to psychology I do think he has valuable things to say. There’s a reason he was a college proffesor.

I just think it’s a shame he now has embraces his hype as “conservative messiah” including obvious pandering to them by insulting fashion models instead of the more down to earth “Canadian college profesor standing up to his beliefs“.

Articulating previous ideas in a more palatable manner for a contemporary audience obviously has its place, and can lead to many people finding grains of wisdom they otherwise may not have ever found, but holy hell. That doesn't suddenly make you one of the most important minds ever. They really can't go a week without publicly huffing their own farts can they

Holy hyperbole...I guess you had to do something to sell the guy...but why not tone it down just a notch, have a little fun with it. Call him "The smartest guy in the whole wide room...about 70% of the time." At least then you don't sound retarded...or at least a little less.

I couldn't quite put a word to what these kinds of people are until I saw a Westboro Baptist Church post here. People like Peterson and Shapiro are modern day corporate pastors marketed as pundits. The formula of those 90s/2000s TV pastors giving over exaggerated sermons is the same one Peterson uses.

Pretty much every internet pundit/activist/"journalist"/etc is engaging in digital televangelism. From Anita Sarkeesian's Kickstarter scam to Jordan Peterson making millions off Patreon before he pulled the same stunt he just did with Twitter and deleted his account. Paypigs send money to a bobblehead on their screen to spread the gospel. They are not here to educate or enlighten anyone. It's simply a campaign with no election.
 
Man, tbh, peterson seems kinda unhinged, not gonna lie, I feel like every second sentence he's talking about the left like there a roving band of murdering marxists, like.
I understand there's merit to what he's suggesting, but he makes it out in terms that are blatantly explicitly evil in ways that I'd hesitate to describe even the worst of dictators.
 
I genuinely wonder if Peterson's diet has exasperated his seeming mental issues. Prolonged ketosis appears to astronomically increase SHBG, a hormone that naturally binds up testosterone, dht, and estrodial. Those with increased SHBG have much lower freely circualting sex hormones in their body as the SHBG is binding to more of them than usual. I don't think Peterson has posted bloodwork anywhere, but it would be nice to see how fucked his endocrine system is. Likely find lower free test levels than normal, lower estrogen (which is neuroprotective) than normal, but an overall increase ratio-wise of estrogen to his testosterone. Even the most stringent carnivore doctor out there Paul Saladino eventually had to introduce honey and fruit as sources of carbs because pure carnivore was screwing with his bloodwork so bad. He may have fried his brain not only with taking high doses of benzos then going cold turkey, but also having a diet that made the issues worse in the longrun

It is rooted in his Russian obsession. He see's "the left" as cut from the same cloth as those that murdered the Russian royal family. I just get that impression. Look at his Russia shrine: an entire room in his house is dedicated to items and paintings from Russia. He has all this Romanov stuff too.

He's been on the meat-only diet for so long, and is so convinced it's the One Thing that is keeping him as healthy as he is, I'm certain he would put up fierce resistance against anybody who tried to convince him that he needed to reintroduce some carbohydrates. The dude has always been anxious, high-strung, and exacting; there were signs of it even in his (relatively) normal days, before the Bill C-16 controversy pushed him into the spotlight and set him on the path that wrecked him.

But he's gone full orthorexic on his carnivore diet, because his personality absolutely lends itself to that kind of obsessiveness. There's a core of fanaticism in him that he tries to moderate, but it seems to just come roaring out in all kinds of odd ways, including his savior complex, and now his rigid dietary practices. It's like a religion to him, one that he credits with "saving" him, and at this point I think he so honestly believes that eating anything else would make him horribly ill, that it actually would. Make him eat a potato, and he'd somatize himself into a nightmare of suffering that would make the legendary sparkling cider incident look like nothing at all.
 
Jordan Peterson seems, to me, like a man whose good ideals were gradually poisoned by his complete inability to compromise with himself or with others. He, like many intellectuals, loses himself in his words and becomes absolutely incoherent in an effort to promote a pretty reasonable message about living morally and motivating oneself via a recognition of serendipity and having a purpose.

I think Peterson would be taken more seriously if he didn't have a severe case of Jung syndrome where he feels like he has to obsessively catalog and analyze every element of his speech while speaking. He does that annoying, pseudo-intellectual thing where he dodges easy questions because he's spent so long philosophizing that he's forgotten how to talk to normal people.

If someone asks Peterson "do you believe in God", he should just be able to say "yes", "no", or "I believe in a higher power but [x]".

If someone asks Peterson what the dominance hierarchy is, he shouldn't go into detail about his fetish for bargain bin sea scorpions, he should give a brief summary of the idea.

Peterson attracts a lot of philosophy-adjacent folks who recognize that modern, directionless living is horribly depressing, but are easily impressed by Peterson's circular words.

He doesn't particularly impress me. I've read his "12 Rules for Life" and "12 More Rules for Life" books, and they're basically just self-help readers with a sprinkling of Jungian mysticism and big words. That's what Peterson is, really, he's a psychiatrist who's damn good at capitalizing on a demoralized audience.

He’s been crazy far before he went meat-only.

My scorching hot take is that he was always high strung and neurotic all his life but the fame/attention as it were took those issues and ratcheted them up a couple orders of magnitude. He’s a nutball that couldn’t handle the pressure that comes from being in the spotlight and it manifests itself in different ways.

A similar thing happened with Dave Chappelle back in the 2000s: he had a meltdown and it took him over ten years until he started feeling comfortable again to resume his “career.” Most people aren’t actually capable of dealing with the kind of pressure that comes with mainstream recognition. Jordan could check out at any time but the easy money combined with his savior complex means he won’t stop even though it’s not good for him and even he knows it’s not good for him, which is why he is a lolcow.
