His basic bitch stoicism has about the same reach as any other self help guru. What differentiated Jordan from all the others was the feminist screeching about the possibility of men washing their penis or attempting to improve themselves. It was amazing advertising and that’s how his 12 rules for life book sold millions of copies. His “success” was people buying his book to spite feminism…but it’s very unlikely more than one or two percent of buyers actually improved their lives from his book. There’s nothing really new or novel about stoicism.

To be fair I love his Maps of Meaning lectures. He can extract meaning from fucking Tom and Jerry if he wants to and still be interesting.

However anything beyond that is useless and preaches like those self help gurus trying to sell you snake oil.

Peterson, make no mistake, is a grifter and has some serious issues in his life. He is absolutely no role model for anyone.

I know he could be included in the 2%, but, a friend of mine really enjoyed his early lectures and pulled himself from a depression that dropped him to 110lbs, as he simply wouldn't eat. I think JBP even said he wasn't saying anything new. Giving someone simple instructions to clean their rooms and essentially become their internet dad is kind of something worth commending given high absentee father rates and divorce rates-- of which this friend was affected. He produced some serious good. However, looking at his recent posts, I have to wonder if the JBP everyone knows is even still there. I really can't tell what he's on about.
 
I checked his Twitter recently.

I won’t deny he had some good advice and all, but he quickly went from ”College professor standing to his principles“ to “guy that shamelessly panders to conservatives”. Not to mention how he subtly hides the fact that he is not a Christian, in the traditional sense, to keep his conservative supporters happy.

It wouldn’t be surprising if he was a closet atheist. His bible series is not done from a religious point of view, if you have noticed for example.

I mean really, calling models ugly? Look even if you agree, I doubt he would have done that before the culture war.

Don’t get me wrong, I also hate obnoxious twitter SJWs, and I don’t blame him as he had intense pressure over him, but I do think his super star status has affected him.

I’m generally harsh towards him because if he or any self help author tries to make money off their advice, they need to be able to walk the talk. His life is a trainwreck. I understand that he ultimately couldn’t deal with the pressures of fame, which I do think he had in 2017-2018 but he reacted to it in a bizarre manner.

Even excepting that, he obviously failed as a father because Mikhaila is the type of thot that Jordan’s audience tears their hair out dealing with. Him turning into a coomer is fine, I don’t care but if he does that and then whines about how dysfunctional society is, it’s like nigga, do one or the other. I understand the cash comes easy by hustling a bunch of young men that society is leaving behind but he’s making it worse for them.

I agree. That’s his problem. He can’t walk the walk. It’s fine that he pointed out flaws about feminism but he wasn’t ever able to live up to his life advice.

I don’t remember which livestream it was but I chuckled when he talked about getting your life together and his kitchen was a complete mess. Considering how trashed his home is, I bet he doesn’t even wash his dick.
