It's actually pretty fresh idea, since he'll be treated by doctors who don't seek to remove symptoms, but rather get to the root of the problem.

he didn't necessarily go wrong in getting any treatment in russia, but Specifically sought out treatment that western doctors explicitly would not do. And has wound up with brain damage.

We aren't just randomly hating on russia here, His daughter openly admitted western doctors 'didn't have the guts' for this treatment that has had him wind up with brain damage.
 
The only problem I find with this whole thing is that Jordan Peterson advocates for traditional masculinity. If that's true, men shouldn't need drugs to deal with their problems.

I do love how he says at 1:17 that porn is "an easy way out". Not like benzos of course.

On hindsight we should all have known Peterson was in deep psychological distress in this video. I mean look at those boots. Only a permantently troubled soul would wear those.

Going cold turkey on a benzo addiction is among the dumbest way possible to fight a benzo addiction, I got clients who have been prescribed decreasing amounts of benzos over 4 years in order to avoid fucking dying.

But leave it to this moron and his even dumber daughter to find an even more dangerous and stupid way to do it via medically induced coma :story:

A benzo is just a whiskey in pill form. Remember he's a psychologist not some kind of masculine guru, so he probably knew he needed them. But he also knew the extremely high likelihood of dependence. Unless you are suffering from some kind of chronic anxiety or epilepsy klonopin is rarely prescribed for more than a few weeks. Like I said in a previous post I on the same meds but refuse to take it everyday for this exact reason. If you have a couple of drinks a week you should be fine but if you drink everyday that's where the problems start. Medically induced coma is generally the last option when it comes to detox from gaba antagonists. And can still lead to death. Seizures are usually what kills people in benzo withdrawals. MIC would lessen the likelyhood of a seizure.

He probably went to Russia because docs in the west probably just wanted to keep him on a baseline dose to prevent withdrawals, since it's safer than coming off the drug entirely.

But the paradoxical affects could explain some of his less composed interviews we saw later in his career. Give 99% of people a beer they become relaxed but then there's the 1% who become mean.

Apples and oranges, dude. This is such a disingenuous comparison.

Peterson became physically dependent and addicted on things of which he was prescribed by a professional. That is so ridiculously different from "I'm going to just stay at home all day and jerk off to porn instead of trying to make relationships or improve myself." Hell, it's even vastly different from someone who is falls into illegal and hard drugs. That's why I think the prescription drug problem in the West has become a crisis in of itself-- the drugs are prescribed like they're candy.

Also, the context in which Peterson is talking about pornography ... It's not like he's going about saying, "Don't fap. Ever." He's saying that pornography has become a crutch for a lot of men in social, interpersonal, and personal senses, and therefore it has become a cultural problem. I don't think he's wrong about that, given that social media and the internet altogether has affected people's social connections on a cultural level. You think he's wrong about everything because he became dependent on prescription drugs? Drugs that were prescribed to him by medical professionals, and have been proven to make people physically and mentally dependent on them?

He does speak on a lot of men's issues, and he's essentially advocated for traditional masculinity vs the over dependence on feelings. It's quite odd, the man who called faggots out for taking their feelings too seriously tried to medicate his own feelings away.
 
I can't help but blame Mikaela for the whole situation.
She put her mother on a only meat diet and her cancer went terminal.
She put her father on the meat diet, he went and became an addict.

I think it's not only crazy to put a cancer patient on an all meat diet, it's straight up cruel.
 
I don't have any problem with this guy; to me he's just a weird internet guy who sometimes says things I agree with and sometimes says things I don't agree with. I feel bad for him honestly, and hope he starts to recover and drops the weird meat diet.

Was the meat diet after the cancer diagnosis? An all red meat diet is completely insane for a normal person to do, for someone with cancer it's horrifying. Precarious for JP as well, considering he's in his late 50s.

Btw, does anyone know if their "autoimmune disorder" thing is legit/diagnosed? I don't get why an autoimmune disorder would be prescribed benzos instead of an autoimmune drug, and why the dosage would be increased for grief-related anxiety. They kind of remind me of a friend I had who's a hypochondriac and claimed to have "chronic lymes disease" and started eating buckets of clams and taking ice baths and doing blood letting and shit. Last time I caught up with him he was drinking literal bleach and making huge Mark Lombardi-style conspiracy theory mind-maps. Sad shit.
 
I wonder if his inability to walk and talk is going to be temporary or permanent. You'd think somebody like Peterson would have a DNR in the event of something like this. The last thing he'd want to live for is being a useless vegetable and a burden on tax payers and his family. Who even has power of attorney? His bonkers daughter that believes being carnivorous is the cure for juvenile arthritis?

I remember when he was on the Joe Rogan show, Peterson spoke about having vivid nightmares and illness for a month after drinking apple cider vinegar once. There seems to be an element of hypochondria that might have caused this chain of events.

I've looked and I haven't found any evidence for it, besides the crazy amount of prescription that Mikhaila is on. Though absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

Though to be honest, with how crazy this family seems to go with things and interpret things, I wouldn't be surprised if the "very very rare automimmune disorder" might just be part of their desire to be quirky on a higher level than most people play it. I have no doubt that they go through hardship and are depressed and such, I just think they play it up and are the cause for some of their own problems.

According to Mikhaila, her mom has been on the diet for a year before the cancer diagnosis.
After the cancer diagnosis in april of 2019 her mother has had her kidneys removed.
I really hope her mom is not on a meat diet without kidneys to detox her body.
