Didn't even know she did one. Does she sound as smooth-brained as normal and deliver it in a "sexy" lobster costume?Anyone watch mikhaila's banned tedx talk?
Good point. I have heard of Canadian naturopaths prescribing antibiotics. Including for "chronic lyme".From what I understand, a lot of different medical professions in Canada can get limited authority to prescribe medications. Here in the U.S. the DEA is the agency that grants prescriptive authority, but in Canada I think it is a professional body of Pharmacists and they tend to be more liberal with it. It is even open to those who practice “alternative medicine” like chiropractors and naturopathic doctors, but the catch is they have to pass a pretty rigorous examination on pharmacology. As you can imagine, it is a subject heavy on things like biochemistry and physiology and you can’t really study for it like you could a GRE or LSAT unless you already have a good background in the relevant topics.
I don’t think it is a terrible idea for someone like a naturopathic doctor or a chiromancer to be able to prescribe an antihistamine for moderate hayfever or an antibiotic for toenail fungus as long as they know how to take a good history and have the appropriate grounding in biomedical science. Sadly, those who practice alternative medicine are not really big on learning things like organic chemistry and so never get the opportunity to take the exam.
Some states here in the U.S. have worked out deals where clinical psychologists can be granted limited prescriptive authority, but usually requires completing a certain amount of graduate credit hours (I think one state requires the completion of a separate Masters), passing exams, and all that jazz. What they can prescribe is pretty narrow and only relevant to mental health.

Im a a leaf too and I don't speak/read French becuase that language and culture is supremely gay. They hate Canada because they're bilingual. You know it. They will never learn to parler français.
Which makes me wonder... is Peterson monolingual? Have we ever heard him speak French?
It’s a similar trap that other professors fall into. Just because you’re a scientist or linguist, it doesn’t mean you’re an expert in governance or civics.I just think it’s a shame he now has embraces his hype as “conservative messiah” including obvious pandering to them by insulting fashion models instead of the more down to earth “Canadian college profesor standing up to his beliefs“.
He’s clearly suffered cognitive decline. The way he talks now is different than before. Even the way he holds himself up is different. It’s like he’s a marionette with a few broken strings while the others threaten to snap under his weight. Before I felt like he masterminded his money making schemes but now I feel like his daughter is in charge.Jordan Peterson has fallen, he has been defeated by the SJWs! For he has become one of them, specifically, part of the PJW (Paul Justice Warrior) subset of SJWs. Basically, the exact same rhetoric as the SJWs, except on the opposite end of the spectrum.
Funny how he's only missing another name before Jordan, that starts with W, to have his initials be WJP, the reverse of PJW.
With all that said, do you think that he'll eventually troon out himself and use mental gymnastics where he explains how he actually didn't troon out, instead just doing it for the lulz to destroy the SJW feminists?
Always sounded like Bob Odenkirk's retarded brother to me.Saying this turd sounds like Kermit the Frog is an insult to Kermit the Frog. He just sounds stupid and weak.
I don't know. He's not quite John Baptiste Philouza.Always sounded like Bob Odenkirk's retarded brother to me.
This is a car wreck from every level.https://youtube.com/watch?v=7pd0HLeYKsE
Jordan Peterson asks muslims to stop fighting each other, christians "and more specifically the jews", lmao.

The only thing I knew of people going to Naturopaths for prescriptions was weed before full legalization happened. Never heard of the antibiotic thing.Good point. I have heard of Canadian naturopaths prescribing antibiotics. Including for "chronic lyme".
I wonder what the allegory of the sleepless cider and the one of the promiscuous daughter meant.I think people misunderstand the school Peterson comes from. Yes, his statements about representations of the double-helix were baseless, but Jungians are more akin to art critics than they are methodical scientists. Art is a window into the eye of artist and observer, and by focusing on the art and myths humanity has produced throughout our history, a clinician can better interpret the internal states of his clients. Why is this?
Consider what's presented in the iconic scene of David and Goliath. A single, allegorical passage in the bible can elucidate what would take a philosopher an entire book to examine. Of course, the philosopher will be more rigorous than the storyteller, but it isn't clear that humanity operates in our day-to-day lives at the level of reason and rigor. We use short-hands, and many of these short-hands we develop when we're young, perhaps before we've developed our capacity for language.
When dealing with patients in a clinical setting, neuroses are disorders that operate among these short-hands. They are by their nature irrational. How a client reacts to stories, relates to stories (really, these allegories), and how they produce their own stories can inform the clinician about both the internal state of the client, as well as a possible means to fix, or at least challenge, these neurotic short-hands that are keeping that client from operating healthily. The maxim of the Jungains may be: to heal short-hands, use short-hands. And at the time that Jung was practicing this made sense, because neuroscience as a field didn't exist. In the future, I think this style of Jungian analysis will be entirely replaced by neuroscience, but in the meantime, I don't think it's wrong or ineffective. Peterson has stated in multiple interviews that creative people often respond the best to this type of therapy, and as a creative who fell down the Peterson rabbit hole, I can see why: good art always dances along the precipice of irrationality, and must strike a balance between order and chaos; without order, art lacks meaning, and without chaos, art lacks soul. This will always pull the artist closer towards the use of short-hands and allegory in their lives, because this semi-irrational domain is where pre-linguistic short-hands lie.
In the case of Peterson, he's been operating within this framework of short-hands for so long I think it's inevitable he's going to fall prey to misattributions, such as the above case.
Excellent observations. What amazed me is that the entire time JP has been relevant (in terms of media), not one of his detractors ever pointed out the fact that Jung tried really hard to be the Psychologist of the Nazi party and after the war people considered it a scandal he didn’t get prosecuted.I think people misunderstand the school Peterson comes from. The Jewish race as a whole…possesses an unconscious which can be compared with the Aryan only with reserve. Creative individuals apart, the average Jew is far too conscious and differentiated to go about pregnant with the tensions of unborn futures. The Aryan unconscious has a higher potential than the Jewish; that is both the advantage and the disadvantage of a youthfulness not yet fully weaned from barbarism. In my opinion it has been a grave error in medical psychology up till now to apply Jewish categories…indiscriminately to German and Slavic Christendom. Because of this the most precious secret of the Germanic peoples—their creative and intuitive depth of soul—has been explained as a morass of banal infantilism.- ‘The State of Psychotherapy Today’
Damn. That's the first time I've seen that quote.Excellent observations. If you read some of the stuff he was putting out there to distant himself and his “analytical psychology” from Freud, you can tell the man knew his audience:
Helpful context: Jung and Freud have rival programs in psychoanalysis and represent two very different methods. For Freud, all the weird shit he talks about, like how you want to murder your father so you can breed mother, is present in the unconscious and so the unconscious is responsible for all your neuroses, abrrehent thoughts and behavior. On the Freudian program you can overcome all that through rationally examining yourself under the guidance of an analyst.
Jung inverts that, rationality is the obstacle to overcome so that you can get back in touch with the primordial bedrock of humanity from which you sprang.
You’d think the fetish so many progressives have today with the idea that they are battling “LITERAL NAZIS” that they wouldn’t hesitate to exploit the association between JP and Jung and paint him as Matthias Heinrich Göring reborn.
