Fucking hell, where I work ridiculously over charges for things ($300+ for a USB stick "guaranteed" to work) but even I would have a pang of conscience sending in that invoice.
 
How the fuck do you get a suit dismissed based on a statute of limitations without being able to motion for legal fees?
 
I know ED is cancerous shit, but it's departure marks the further death of the old internet. I can't see anything like ED being created again and flourishing to the level ED did. And like it or not, most of us can meekly admit that it was a part of our browser history eons ago.

I think the idea was to not only win, but to bitch slap Johnathan Monsarrat so hard he'd be forced to lose money on this and thus refrain from pulling this crap in the future.

Unfortunately, this is a situation where it's better to call someone's bluff than play double or nothing odds.
 
I remember when ED first went down.

A lot of us second generation from /b/ went over to help rebuild it. Took a long ass time but eventually it was back to normal. The old ED staff fucking rampaged about GirlVinyl raping their servers over shekels. Now, after years of not even using anything from there as a credible source besides some fat diaperfur, Zaiger is doing pretty much exactly what landwhale did except his actions are not with malicious intent, only ineptitude.

GNAA turned into some SJW hellhole, Patriotic Nigras were banned to oblivion, ED has now made Uncyclopedia look good (LITERALLY READ THIS AND TELL ME THIS ISN'T FUCKING ACCURATE), everything old and funny has gone to shit and it's not even depressing, just fucking pathetic.

But hey, it's 2017, and we live in a world of standards. We got a forum that prides itself on accuracy and consistent quality writing and commentary (ok not so much commentary). We work together to document people on the internet who have made asses of themselves one way or another, and while that may not sound pretty, we somehow take such an autistic thing and turn it into a sort of online library of eccentric people. ED died when GV tossed it into the trash. People dumb enough like myself took it out of the dumpster to try to fix it. If we knew what would happen, ED would've died a long ass time ago.

All I'm saying is, look upon what we could have been on the farms, and appreciate what we got here. It's not perfect, but its ours, and it's good. Fuck if anyone says otherwise.

I don't feel to bad for them I mean they had pop up malware ads which is almost unforgiveable. Though it sucks to lose yet another early Web 2.0 site.

Randazza Legal is a little more than your average lawyer. They've won several high-profile cases in this field and they charge with the expectation they're working on cases against large corporations or governments. Going straight to them when one random dude tries to sue you is like someone saying "I am going to kick your ass" so you hire P. Diddy's bodyguard team for yourself.

This. Believe it or not there was a time before GirlVinyl had given up on her creation and there were actually standards that articles were expected to meet. Now anyone can post anything they want without even having to make it funny and if anyone gives you shit about it all you have to do is donate twenty bucks and they'll let it slide.

And to everyone asking why he went the lawyer route it was because he was personally named in the lawsuit and he got scared shitless at the prospect of being on the hook for 750K. I'll have to look back through his profile but when this shit first went down he was posting every other day about this lolsuit and how stressful it was.
