Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

They didn't add any new scenes to the finale though so that kinda sucks

Dio's Best Boi.

Holy fuck, that was amazing. Part 5 still my favorite. Part 5 animu awesome tier. Still feels like it needs an epilogue proper.

I just want Giorno to show up in part 6 now and 'Arrevederchi' Pucci. Kind of makes me sad knowing part 6 is the last of the Jojo 'main' universe. There still feels like more that could have been with Giorno/Jotaro and Part 6 doesn't feel like the best sendoff for the 'main' universe at all. This is really going to be hard to top.

I know, something something SBR. I still miss all this insanity.

If you consider what they did between DIU and GW, I reckon the “true epilogue” (assuming they don’t expand part 6) will be PHF. SO will most likely be 2021 at the earliest and they did the Rohan OVAs to make up for no GW in 2017, so maybe PHF OVA in 2020 will be another “gap filler”. Plus, this scene kinda hints that Fugo’s not done yet

im doing jojo night saturday. just phantom blood and battle tendency. if people are interested in coming, you can come by and watch the first 2 parts

It was nice to see Part 5 animated and I liked it more than when I read it but I could still never really get into it. I know Bruno is the real main character, but Giorno as a lead was always super weak because of how much he cheats the internal logic. I know Araki is inconsistent in writing, but making a point of GE not being able to heal people and then him doing it anyway and reviving the dead irks me for some reason. I'm glad it brings us closer to 6, more so when things start going off the rails and picking up in it. Not having friday Jojos for probably another 2 years is pretty lame though.

Part 5 had a great ending and it was an amazing journey, will look forward to Part 6 but for now I will be reading the manga from part 6 onward to fill in my Jojo binge.

Technically GE didn't revive the dead. It was due to King Crimson's time fuckery where he was in this state of death/non-death, held on to by Bruno's willpower. Technically, since time wasn't supposed to be erased, he was supposed to be alive. But due to King Crimson's abilities, time was erased and he dies. So he's in this split state. Giorno could heal his body, but it was only a matter of time before he departed. He knows he's finished, but he hangs on because he's no longer asleep to his fate. It also resonates with Diavolo dying an infinite number of deaths, as this was a fate he'd given others countless times before. This also goes with the 'Rolling Stone's epilogue.

Narancia is different because he was instantly killed. His spirit had already departed, it took time for them to notice. It wasn't very long for Giorno to find Bruno. At least that's how I look at it.

I think my biggest issue with Stone Ocean is that it really fucking sucks as a swan song to the main Jojo timeline. I know Araki was at his lowest there creatively and was struggling. But still, its pretty much the least popular of the Jojo parts, maybe excepting Phantom Blood. I mean, we really can't go at how much Araki cheats logic, because GER would have zero-ed the fuck out of Pucci. It'd be fun if he did, have Joylene run away with the Italian mafia, There's also the issue of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B69_-ouSvio Not murking Pucci. The thing is, I KNOW I'm going to be extremely disappointed with Stone Ocean's ending because they followed VA's ending to a literal 'T'. So they'll probably do a straight adaption.

This has to do with the conclusion of Stone Ocean.
I know Stone Ocean is actually a happy ending, with Emperio basically retconning all of Part 6 and Jojo and Joylene being who we knew them as with an indeterminate amount of time erased between part 5 and part 6 because Pucci ceases to exist entirely. I mean, its actually the happiest ending, if you think about it. Jotaro gets a family, doesn't have to go around fighting Stand mercenaries and doesn't ever have to worry about DIO or his legacy ever again. Joylene basically keeps all her growth over part 6, we just assume its in a far more positive light. I mean, its an absolute victory for the protagonists and basically an absolute defeat of the villain. Its unique in the fact that everyone fucking dies, but time and space is basically ripped apart to resurrect them in a better future with better experiences. And fate causes the villain to literally cease to exist. And you get a feeling the gang is all going to get back together. Except Foo Fighters. Rest in Pepperoni Plankton Girl. I actually really fucking like this. Other people have gone super-dark, like saying 1-5 never happened, Jotaro and Irene are different people and their memories are different. But it makes 0 sense with how Pucci's Stand works.

It can't change the past, so 1-5 already happens. We don't know when Pucci started fucking with Jotaro, but the moment he does is where realities diverge. So Jotaro is the same person up to the moment Pucci starts messing with his life. We can assume he still meets his girl and has Joylene. Because he could have conceived any random number of children. So his girl is pregnant with Joylene. Pucci fuckery starts here. Hence the different names. The Jotaro that gets overwritten is actually one WE NEVER ACTUALLY SEE because we don't see how Pucci affected his life. He still has Star Platinum. You can reason why Joylene is Irene: Joylene does not have a Stand. She was not a born Stand user. So she doesn't have a Stand. Jotaro doesn't give her one because Stand users attract Stand users and that always leads to Sadness and Death. Irene is NOT a Jojo. She will not have a bizarre adventure and will lead a normal, stable life with no Stand. The curse of the Joestars and DIO is finally broken and the Joestars will now know peace after their massive sacrifice. That's why Part 6's ending is so great to me.

My problem is this is communicated SO. FUCKING. POORLY. Like you've got one panel of Jotaro and Joylene murked and then that's all you get to process and then the universe switches and poof. Its over. Like, you barely get time to process Jotaro's death and rebirth and think about it before the manga ends. And you're like 'fuck that's dark'. Then you think on the insanity you just witnessed and work everything out in your head and you go 'holy fuck, no, this is the happiest ending ever'. Irene's name is really fucking meta and confuses things even FURTHER because its meant to be an homage to Araki's first female character and a combo name of Irene and Annakiss: 'I lean and kiss'. So it doesn't really have the impact people thought (Joylene is the same character as Irene). You basically are left to come to this conclusion yourself after a really abrupt finale. And the way they did Part 5's finale with not adding anything makes me worry its going to be the same thing with Part 6 which is an abrupt, kind of unceremonious end. I think it needs way more of an emotional impact to end so much and so many stories and it needs to give you time to process it. You're saying good-bye to Jotaro, Joylene, Josuke, Joesph, Giorno and all the others. And then boom, its over. I understand why Araki used 'its a wonderful world' as the ending title, because it is. There's no more DIO, no more mercenaries, no more evil plaguing the Joestar family. They can finally rest, and Jotaro gets what Jonathan was denied: A family.

Its still epic, you've got this 12 year old erasing this asshole from existence after he wants to make heaven with the lines: "Walking the Path of Justice is true Fate" And proceeds to rip his face off and beat his skull in after this long, head-up ass monologue. I just want it to have more finality and closure and less ambiguity.

So that's my main concern.

I have never heard of this from anyone. Where did you get this idea?

Just the way King Crimson's abilities work. King Crimson foresees the future and basically 'erases' time. Only Diavolo can move in this erased time. Bruno was supposed to beat Diavolo, but King Crimson erased that portion of time and punched right through him. So you have this alteration of fate. Its why Diavolo speaks about fate in the intro, as he believes he can control it, since he alters events that are supposed to happen because he can foresee them and erase time.

Giorno comes up upon him almost immediately to heal him, but he's already in this middle state, where he wasn't supposed to die yet he does anyway. So you have Bruno in this sort of half-alive/half-dead space, because time and fate were altered. Bruno realizes this and hangs on, which ties into the events of sleeping slave where he's 'awakened' which is why he's clinging to his body which is in this half-dead/half-alive space due to the combination of Golden Experience and King Crimson.

I just infer it honestly with the way King Crimson's abilities work. He's not actually pausing time like Dio or Jotaro. He's actually erasing it and changing the future. So he alters fate and destiny. Like I said, Bruno wasn't supposed to die, but because time was erased, his fate was changed. Its not so much as Giorno resurrecting Bruno, but Giorno repairing this vessel that is in this middle state thanks to Diavolo's stand abilities. I mean, its just my thinking on that fact. The idea that Bruno is in this half-state because Diavolo erases time and makes his own 'fate' fits with the themes of VA. It goes along with the Rolling Stone and Sleeping Slaves epilogue as well as Diavolo's infinite deaths. He's punished in the same way that he's done for others. He's trapped in this state of half living half dead, because that's what he's done to everyone around him. He's altered their fate, erased time. So its poetic justice.

Like I said, I'm just inferring this from the themes of the work. Of course its just my opinion, you could just say its an oversight or done for dramatic effect, but I think it fits the themes of VA, Diavolo's abilities, his eventual fate and the epilogue.

Started reading Stone Ocean after Golden Wind, and while I'm only 20 something chapters in, I really don't see why so many people consider it bad. Maybe it gets shitty in the end (I am vaguely aware there's some apocalyptic, Crisis On Infinite Earths style reboot happening), but so far I'm having a blast. Oh, and Lightning McQueen's shenanigans are hysterical.

im doing a jojo night this saturday at around 12pm central on lolcow.tv/autism so if anyone wants to come by, you can

Same I finished the Johngalli A arc and Stone Ocean so far is top tier. I heard though that it gets bad in the middle of it but maybe I may enjoy it so who knows
