I know I'm a little late (better than never I suppose) but I just got done watching part 1 of SBR and I can already tell this might be quickly become my favorite part of JoJo, it might be me getting too excited or love for the setting in late 19th century USA.
Also Pocoloco is best boy btw

Anime Japan 2026 special stage event is live now, you can watch it here but you need to set your VPN location to Japan or the website won’t load.

Edit: No concrete dates were announced for the 2nd stage, but it will be released sometime this year. Going by the new short trailer they showed, it seems they plan on releasing each stage separately.

Edit 2: 2nd Stage trailer

Netflix is fucking schizophrenic. I miss David Production/Warner Brothers
You know David Productions is still animating it and Warner is producing it

Netflix is just a distributor and this batch release exists cause they need to dub this shit in 14 other languages

Which in that case, fuck off with simultaneous dubbing, people need to fucking read

If they do get off on dropping these things by the stages, the work better reflect it. Not expecting DP to turn into Ufotable because of a longer timetable, but if we get long, basically feature-length episodes under this scheduling, I'm down.

Silly that the JoJo subreddit is contemplating suicide because of Netflix :unholy:

Contemplating doing what I did with Stone Ocean, which is ignore it until its complete. Man I had fun watching part 5 live :( I'll never forget the chat reaction to Freakin You.

This might be massive hopium but I personally think that they'll just be doing stage batches of normal length episodes from now on and maybe they'll get to do another feature length episode at the very end. I've seen people floating around the idea that this will be another feature length episode and that to me sounds insane. It's not impossible but that would be the real nightmare scenario.

Would I've prefer a weekly release? Well yeah, but to me batches are no longer the end of the world, as long as they keep the great pacing and quality from the first episode without sacrificing the storytelling with huge cuts from the source material. I just don't give a shit about hype anymore, specially during release when a lot of discussion is infiltrated by tourists who haven't read the manga or aren't even Jojo fans and are just there to see LE SECOND BEST RATED MANGA OF ALL TIME ON MYANIMELIST.

If the final product ends up being amazing, it'll be worth it, I don't care if it takes like two or three years to finish. I already waited about ten years for this to be animated. If batches ensure that DP will get to deliver quality, so be it. That being said, I'm willing to shit all over this if it not only ends up being a bad adaptation, but one with extremely long wait times in between, but for now I choose to be optimistic and take the good from the bad.

Netflix is easily the worst villain in JOJO history

That'll be wild if SBR gets botched, isn't DP reported to have taken up JoJo just so they could do Part 7?
SBR is widely considered the best part of the entire Jojo Series as Araki's magnum opus, which is why it doesn't surprise me that David productions did all the other parts just to do part 7.

It would be a multi generational fumble the likes of which is rarely seen if they fucked up its anime adaptation.
