Folks, it's become pretty clear that Joe Biden is someone who's prone of making an ass of himself on the reg.
Whether it's forgetting people's names, making stupid claims, throwing a shitfit over nothing or just plain trailing off in the middle of a sentence, this is the thread where we'll record it for posterity.
So here's the deal, please feel free to report in this thread anything stupid and substantiable that Biden says or does, and I will do my best to roll it into the OP in chronological order.
Remember that is specifically for his fuck-ups, and not for weird shit like that green-screen microphone glitch, nor for general politics.
Archive supporting docs/articles where possible (use wayback machine if you don't know how to do this already) and post 'em here for posterity.
So, let's get started!
Will do as many as I feel like today and will keep adding as more turn up.
Bear in mind that video links in the Wayback Machine may take several days to work after creation.
2021
June 14th, G7 Summit: Biden doesn't realise that Cyril Ramaphosa is the President of South Africa, incorrectly calls out UK Prime Minster Johnson.
Other world leaders openly laugh at him while he does a feeble old-man victory double fist-pump. NY Post article here.
Interestingly, an unedited version of this exists whereas an edited version on YouTube appears to cut the audio of Biden fucking up. Un-archived links: unedited and edited.
August 18, ABC interview: Biden dismisses Afghanis falling to their death from US planes by saying "That was four days ago, five days ago" as if that excuses anything.
August 21, ABC interview: Biden claims his son Beau served in the Navy in Afghanistan (Beau actually served in the Army in Iraq).
August 24, Press briefing: Biden forgets FEMA director's name (during scripted statement!), forgets a press question mid-answer.
2020
February 25th, Democratic primary debate: Biden claims 150 million have died due to gun violence since 2007.
October 12th, campaign speech: Biden claims (for the second time on this campaign!) that he's running for the Senate instead of the Presidency.
October 24th, 'Pod Save America' podcast: Biden claims the Dems have created an "extensive... voter fraud organization".
October 26th, livestreamed campaign event: Biden forgets he's up against Trump, starts referring to his opponent as 'George' (possibly G. W. Bush).
2019
August 9th, Democratic presidential nomination campaign: Biden utters the now-infamous 'poor kids are just as bright and talented as white kids' gaffe.
November 20th, Democratic presidential debate: Biden states that to change the culture of mistreating women that people need to "keep punching at it, and punching at it..."
2009
April 30th, 'Today Show' interview: VP Biden makes several incorrect claims about the 2009 Swine Flu outbreak's transmissibility, prompting a correction from the White House.
2008
September 9th, campaign rally: Biden acknowledges Sen. Chuck Graham (D-Missouri) with "I'm told Chuck Graham, state senator, is here. Stand up, Chuck, let 'em see you. Oh, God love you. What am I talking about. I'll tell you what, you're making everybody else stand up, though, pal." At that stage, Sen. Graham had been confined to a wheelchair for 27 years as the result of a car accident at 16 years of age.
October 15th, nomination rally: Biden describes 'jobs' as a "three letter word".
2007
January 31st, Biden discusses Presidential nomination rival Barack Obama with "I mean, you got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, I mean, that’s a storybook, man.". It's a complete mystery why Obama then went on to pick this half-man, half-jackass for VP.
