A post criticizing her for "I bathe in Male Tears" attitude

Jessica Valenti is a feminist who has written 4 or so books, and many, many articles for the online publication The Guardian. These articles (as well as her antics on twitter) are widely criticized for a multitude of reasons. These include: flip-flopping to whatever argument is convenient at that time, defense and promotion of inflammatory rhetoric, and being a huge baby in response to the equally inflammatory backlashes she inevitably faces. Which is why I'd consider her a good potential lolcow.

Apparently thanking someone for giving a phone call is evidence of toddler-like behaviour.

This Retweet is just confusing...

Even though Piers Morgan is a cunt, the lolcow Valenti has retweeted is several times worse.

@Hellfire, isn't Infinite Scream a Nora Reed bot? This sounds familiar.

Valenti was also one of the ones going after Trevor Noah for having young conservative pundit Tomi Lahren on his show.

Lindy West Thread

Zoe Quinn and Franchesca Ramsey also show up in her tweeting history.

I think that's about it for anything worth covering for the OP. Happy New Year Kiwi Farms.

This is the other side of the spectrum of the Kengle careercow archetype. Great find.

Apparently Jessica Valenti tried to suppress that one

Now for the fun Downfall parody

Edit to add a few bits

For me this is her greatest hit One perk of older age? Fewer catcalls

Breitbart response to that there are many others out there

I remember that she used to list feministing as her website having a look at the about section she is listed as Co -founder but not active might be interesting to know why

Jessica valenti shilled hard for Hillary. The email leaks showed she collluded with the campaign to smear Bernie and his supporters.

Her brand is complete horse shit now.

LOL, the racism and sexism of the publishing industry? Some people have room to complain about that. But not Jessica Valenti.

Look, I can't tell you how I know this, but Jessica Valenti was given her first book deal and advance by a publisher in a way almost NO ONE gets a book deal. The editor contacted her, without her needing to get an agent or anything else, and held her hand through the writing of a book proposal (often the tough stage where writers get knocked back because of inexperience). All the stuff that's usually incredibly difficult -- writing and editing the proposal, shopping it, understanding competitive books and pitching the proposal at a publisher's meeting -- she was shepherded through it all by her editor, who gave a series of similar book deals to other feminists with prominent blogs.

It's hard to overestimate the value of this kind of jump start to a writing career for any fledgling blogger. Now, Valenti and several other women who got those book deals are considered big-name feminists who can command significant fees just for appearing on college campuses and such.

Way back when she was first getting book deals of this sort, a black feminist blogger noticed that the publisher and editors weren't publishing books by black authors. The response of both the white feminist bloggers like Valenti and the editor who'd been greasing their way was "well, black authors just don't submit book proposals." They wanted to completely obscure the fact that Valenti & co. hadn't just gotten in on their merits, by submitting a proposal like anyone else, but instead had significant help of a sort that not one writer in a hundred gets in their career. To this day, they won't admit that they got help in ways that those black feminist authors were never offered. Very "intersectional."

I was wondering when this cunt would get a thread on here. She's a hypocritical cow who can't keep her shitty ideology straight.

"OMG CATCALLING IZ SEXIZM"
"WHY U NO CATCALL ME NO MOAR? THAZ SEXIST!

"CRITICIZING WOMANZ IZ BAD!"
"NOT CRITIZING WIMMINZ IS BAD!"

Bitch, you only want women you don't like to be criticized. All the women you agree with must be shielded from hurt fee-fees at all costs.

Her writing is boring as fuck, which is the worst sin of all. I noticed her latest book "Sex Object" at my local library, and after checking out some of the essays, I was on the verge of slipping into a coma from sheer boredom.

Isn't "male tears" euro-slang for jizz?

It's always funny, but not surprising, to me when it turns out that the big, tough, women can do anything, feminists like Jessica only got to where they are because somebody held their hand and did all the heavy lifting for them.

Any idea on who this editor is and why they'd do that?

she's basically the Guardian's version of Richard Littlejohn - similar level of honesty, journalistic integrity, and just as much of a cunt

but as she's a leftist upper-middle class white woman, apparently that makes it all OK

Did this miracle package also, by chance, include a ghostwriter?

I mean, I don't think it's a secret why the editor wanted to do it. The feminist blog world was rife with women who could write pop-psych type stuff. It's not even an altogether bad thing to get a hand up, but the hypocrisy comes when you start talking about how tough it is to get ahead and don't even acknowledge that you had a hand that most people won't get. Saying "hey, the publishing industry is sexist and racist, so one of the few ways someone like me can get ahead is to have mentorship and assistance" would honestly be ok by me. Saying "I had opportunities it'd be nice for other people to have, so let's make them widely available" would be great. This kind of "I had to SMASH GLASS CEILINGS TO GET HERE" stuff is just undeserved self-aggrandizement from someone who had the right kind of blog at the right time for an editor to think it was monetizable.

plus, the fact that she's lived well into legal adulthood without ever having to get off her arse and actually earn a living for herself makes statements like this not just untrue but jaw-droppingly hypocritical

Jessica Valenti is like a more obnoxious and hateful version of Dolores Umbridge.

She's not active because Feministing is supposed to be a "space" for young feminists so Valenti stopped writing there but really she had better cash cows like book deals and the like. http://feministing.com/2011/02/02/farewell-feministing/

Lindy West leaving made Twitter a better place because there's more space there.

A lot more space.

Really a lot of space.

Because she's fat.
