He played Marvel Rivals because he's a millennial marvelfag and always has been, also because it's a popular game right now. It's not some grand scheme to troll his audience epic style or anything like that.

It's bordering art for me, but probably also stockholm syndrome. I'm not too sure. All I know is that it is quite unique and I don't know where it's going.

You forget, he probably gets sponsor requests all the fucking time right? Why did he choose this garbage? Because he knows (and he has data) that his audience will HATE it.

I don’t know about that. Over the years Jerma has enmeshed himself in the broader twitch landscape (for the worse, imo) and as such I imagine his audience looks much like, say, Ludwig’s or some other such dime-a-dozen eceleb’s - the type that wouldn’t balk at their streamer playing a FOTM game. Further, people seem to genuinely like Marvel-Overwatch heralding it as “one of the few good Marvel games” and as the rightful successor to OW1. I think, like Overwatch, it doesn’t make for a good viewer experience but I don’t think it’s enough that it will piss off the audience.

You sure you are not reading too much into it? Maybe he is just getting grumpy with what he is doing, which is not what he wants to do, but it is what the audiance wants.

Essencially, now that he already has an audiance he needs to maintain it. Maintaining something is boring, building something is fun. And because of this mechanic, he now is bored and grumpy. That would be my take.

You're reading too deeply into this. Every time Jerma tried to gaslight viewers in the past he broke down laughing after about 5 minutes. He would never be able to keep a straight face pulling off mind games like that for an entire stream. Not to mention that his brain is fried from weed (and maybe other painkillers, too who knows). He just likes Marvel slop and ever since he got popular he's been playing flavor of the month trash a lot more often than back in the day.

That, and emote only mode being way overused. I never really watched live, but despite the audience being annoying, most of his truly good stuff comes from audience interaction. Usually due to a one guy sending him on a wild goose chase.
You can tell in the Breath of the Wild streams, how he goes from lively and energetic to having nothing to play off of when he's in shrines and emote only comes out.

Plus, the emote only mode stuff always came across as the jannies having a power trip.

In his defense the last few times I checked out his streams his entire chat is nothing but "WHOLESOME!!!" and pride flag spam. So even if he did have it on its not like there is anything to work with.
 
Today's Sims 2 stream was refreshing. Felt almost like a stream from 5 years ago, I guess the sims is a series that brings it out of him. Glad to see he plans to continue it.

When he just plays a game and there's no "plans talk", degen chat messages or "medical talk" it's a really good stream. I don't give a fuck about all these ideas or plans he has for other streams, I just want my funny moments in a game. It's been years of discussion and distracting nonsense that I for one don't care for. I don't care about these "big streams" or game show crap and all of it has led to him to stray so far from what made his channel great.

He's getting into the groove again, fuck all the retirement talk I hope he just keeps going without mentioning it.

Troons infiltrated his mod team at least 5 years ago and it's been downhill in terms of the chat culture since then. Legit 15-16 year old brazilian trannies became his mods on Discord and Twitch and were constantly feeding to Jerma that transphobia was in his chatroom because the old fans would complain that a few people would spam tranny shit in the chat all day. Since he did that trans rights outburst a wave of the worst imaginable people flooded the chat room for the past 5 years.

His chat used to compliment his stream to the point where watching on YouTube you would miss out a lot of funny shit. That's certainly not the case anymore.

Yeah, I don't get why there's still mentions about """""soft retirement""""". It doesn't make much sense when you're clearly still around. I suppose he's "retiring" in the sense that it's not his primary source of income anymore, but it's kind of just pointlessly startling people. It's hardly retirement. It's like he never left. lol
 
I was thinking of checking out the Sims 2 stream VOD so I think I will. I really enjoyed his Sims 4 streams.
 
I did the mistake of playing this video yesterday as background noise because I thought "le funny streamer guy rants" would be funny, holy shit he's retarded. Definitely sub-100 IQ. Explains his fanbase

 
Went through my list of twitch follows to see how many are flat out dead and apparently the account made just for the 2022 christmas special is still in existence when it's done nothing since.
