As a sad, but not unexpected, final update, Sgt Vidler failed in his lawsuit against his termination. As a quick tl:dr since a lot may not know/remember this story, Vidler was the Orange County Sheriff's Deputy who got so fed up with Jeremy's continuous shenanigans that during a traffic stop he arrested him on a bullshit charge. Specifically he pulled him over for open carrying a weapon but arrested him for a concealed weapons violation, except said weapon wasn't concealed even slightly since it was openly holstered on his hip.
While I would normally cheer on cops actually being held to account for their bullshit for once, firing him seemed excessive given he was a veteran cop with a good record (he was awarded a Valor medal as a first responder to the Pulse nightclub shooting) and IMO it mostly appears to have been a retaliation for him going after Jeremy after being told to let it go.
The final kicker on the entire shitshow is if he hadn't gone the BS concealed weapon route and instead gone for a simple possession charge he would have gotten away with it since it was one of those pepperball guns which I believe Jeremy is prohibited from possessing due to being a felon. I think he was also on bond for a previous incident at the time which likely would have included a no weapons clause as well.
