'Empire' star Jussie Smollett attacked in possible hate crime

“Empire" actor Jussie Smollett was attacked in the early morning hours on Tuesday in what Chicago police are calling a possible hate crime.

Smollett was attacked by two people "yelling out racial and homophobic slurs" and "poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim," police said.

According to police, one of Smollett's alleged attackers also put a rope around his neck. Both fled the scene.

Smollett took himself to Northwestern Hospital and "is in good condition," police told CNN.

Later Tuesday, CNN's Don Lemon spoke to Smollett and a mutual friend who was at the hospital with the actor. Smollett confirmed the incident took place.

He was shaken and angry that an attack like this could happen. Smollett told CNN he fought back at the attackers.

"Given the severity of the allegations, we are taking this investigation very seriously and treating it as a possible hate crime," the police statement said.

Smollett has starred on Fox's "Empire" since 2015. He plays Jamal, a successful singer in the musical Lyon family. Like his character, Smollett identifies as gay.

"We are deeply saddened and outraged to learn that a member of our 'Empire' family, Jussie Smollett, was viciously attacked last night," a representative of 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment said in a statement to CNN. "We send our love to Jussie, who is resilient and strong, and we will work with law enforcement to bring these perpetrators to justice. The entire studio, network and production stands united in the face of any despicable act of violence and hate -- and especially against one of our own."

A representative for GLAAD told CNN the organization has reached out Smollett to offer assistance and support.

"Jussie is a true champion for LGBTQ people and is beloved by the community and allies around the world," a GLAAD spokesperson said in a statement.

Also, besides Jussie Smollett's history of Trump-hating, his manager's partner and CEO at 4hunnid, is YG, whose claim to fame was his song 'Fuck Donald Trump' (which is really one of the worst produced rap songs ever). The intro to the song and the lyrics to the song itself are all about how terrible white people are, lying about Donald Trump being racist, and about how they are soo persecuted and require a greater allotment of victim points.

The criminal scumbag YG also has a history of having racist charges levied against him and try to play the race card to cover for his childish behavior:

Both YG and Brandon Z. Moore are members of the Bloods gang. Notice how all of his shit is red. That's no accident. What is hoaxer Jussie Smollett, a gay thespian, doing with lowlife gang members representing him? That seems like an odd fit.

I wonder if it was Brandon Z. Moore's idea to create this anti-Trump hoax? Considering Moore's involvement so far it is a distinct possibility. Jussie was on his way to Moore's apartment when the hoax of an attack happened. Then he sat for 45 minutes with his pathetic coiled clothesline around his neck waiting for his spotlight. Moore has already lied once when he claimed he was on the phone with Jussie during the attack, saying he heard 'This is MAGA country!'.

Considering the recent fake hate mail that Jussie reported, where again MAGA is written all over the envelope, it seems likely that this conspiracy was brewing for at least a couple of weeks, and that the lowlife gang member Brandon Z. Moore was involved in, or even responsible for, creating the hoax.

What even are 'hunting socks'?? If that was a real redneck he would be dressed properly for the -10 degrees F weather. He was wearing a full-zip hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and dress shoes? Total bullshit. Jussie claims they were wearing ski masks and dressed all in black, but his neighbor claims they were all in blue, except for their unusually visible 'hunting socks' and light-colored dress shoes. She overdid it when she went into such detail. Incompetent liars tend to oversell.

There's no way that guy was standing out there for 2 more hours dressed like that. Frostbite would be evident.

If they wanted authenticity they should have said he was wearing a black Carhartt jacket over brown Carhartt bib overalls, with black boots, and wrap-around eyeglasses.

Surprise, the conman Jussie Smollet's lying friends are just as stupid as him and his lowlife gang member manager Brandon Z. Moore. What a bunch of braindead clowns. It would be simple to pull off that hoax, it would have required only a minimal amount of planning and intelligence.

The woman says she went to sleep and woke up at 4 AM to go to the gym, and noticed a lot of security. She says the concierge told her Jussie was attacked, and when she told him what she saw, the concierge implored her to call a detective and gave her two phone numbers. She made contact that afternoon and downloaded a detective.

No, of course not. People who make up ridiculous hate crimes never get in trouble, because they're just starting a discussion. On the other hand, those accused of ridiculous hate crimes are guilty forever, especially if it turns out the whole thing was made up.

So on the second coldest night of the year, a Hollywood actor, bundled up against -20 degree wind chill, was recognized by two "fans" in the dead of 0200 hours, on Lower Water Street (a known hangout for the seedy underbelly of MAGA supporters?) who happened to be carrying a canister of bleach and a piece of string, just in case they ran across a black, gay, Hollywood actor wrapped up against the elements in a place known more for homelessness than for the star set being seen in public.

Sounds completely believable, especially the part about this being "MAGA country" hours after the first interview and the insistence that body cameras being turned off (for a guy who makes his living in front of cameras) and the seeking of medical attention after (A) turning down an ambulance and (B) heading to the hospital hours later. Our contacts say that the "persons of interest" happened to wander into a camera frame and seem to have had nothing to do with the event in question - but the bosses want to look like they're doing something to appease Rahm and the Hollywood money people - Empire is losing money and viewers - so it's "All Hands on Dicks!"

In other news, another two percentage points were shaved off the clearance rate.
