'Empire' star Jussie Smollett attacked in possible hate crime

“Empire" actor Jussie Smollett was attacked in the early morning hours on Tuesday in what Chicago police are calling a possible hate crime.

Smollett was attacked by two people "yelling out racial and homophobic slurs" and "poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim," police said.

According to police, one of Smollett's alleged attackers also put a rope around his neck. Both fled the scene.

Smollett took himself to Northwestern Hospital and "is in good condition," police told CNN.

Later Tuesday, CNN's Don Lemon spoke to Smollett and a mutual friend who was at the hospital with the actor. Smollett confirmed the incident took place.

He was shaken and angry that an attack like this could happen. Smollett told CNN he fought back at the attackers.

"Given the severity of the allegations, we are taking this investigation very seriously and treating it as a possible hate crime," the police statement said.

Smollett has starred on Fox's "Empire" since 2015. He plays Jamal, a successful singer in the musical Lyon family. Like his character, Smollett identifies as gay.

"We are deeply saddened and outraged to learn that a member of our 'Empire' family, Jussie Smollett, was viciously attacked last night," a representative of 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment said in a statement to CNN. "We send our love to Jussie, who is resilient and strong, and we will work with law enforcement to bring these perpetrators to justice. The entire studio, network and production stands united in the face of any despicable act of violence and hate -- and especially against one of our own."

A representative for GLAAD told CNN the organization has reached out Smollett to offer assistance and support.

"Jussie is a true champion for LGBTQ people and is beloved by the community and allies around the world," a GLAAD spokesperson said in a statement.

Considering he sent himself a fake hate letter prior to this it seems likely he planned this incident, and it is not some robbery gone awry or sexual hookup turned violent. The existence of that obviously fake hate letter indicates aforethought. You know that if you checked his browser/search history you'll find results for 'how to tie noose'; and his Amazon purchase history will have some cheap twiny rope being recently delivered.

The lies told by his publicist Brandon Z. Moore of 4hunnid means that Jussie Smollett conspired with others to prepare this hoax. Those lies are not helping his case, what an absolute dumbshit.

This is my current theory as well. Whatever happened to him happened in the span of sixty seconds and no one else was seen in the frame before or after so if he actually got beaten up it was incredibly brief and he recovered quickly. I think it's more likely that he'd been considering a hoax for awhile and decided to pull the trigger on it.

YG appears to be only rapping about what he knows, but the Chinese community feel that the video reaffirms what they already know.



In the United States, Chinese-Americans are unfairly targeted, especially by African-Americans. According to a study done by the San Francisco Police Department, 85 percent of physical assaults crimes involved Chinese victims and African-American perpetrators in San Francisco alone. The video, according to the Chinese community, only motivates more of these crimes to occur.

Californian candidate for California State Senator Jane Kim sent out a press release yesterday, stating that the video isn’t only anti-Chinese. The Korean-American candidate states that the video is actually anti Asian-American. She has called for YouTube to take it down.

“The lyricism and imagery of this video is deeply offensive to Chinese-Americans, and dismantles community-based efforts that seek to build positive race relations among African-Americans and Asian-Americans.”

Rapper YG has previously served jail time for burglary, something that Asian Americans feel is being encouraged through the video. Kim’s press release also states,

Rapper YG calls American Airlines 'racist' after being kicked off flight

Rapper YG claims he was kicked off his American Airlines flight on Monday because of racism, but the airline says otherwise.

“F--k American Airlines! They said I’m drunk,” he shouted in a video posted to Twitter. “I’m sober than a muthaf--ka!”

He also captioned it, “F--k @AmericanAir THEY RACIST.”

But a rep for American Airlines tells Page Six, “The video speaks for itself – he was removed due to being intoxicated.”

The “Big Bank” rapper, 28, had been flying from LAX to JFK Airport on Monday. YG, whose real name is Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson, was removed at 8:37 p.m. PT and was “asked to deplane due to being intoxicated a short time later,” the American Airlines rep said. The flight then departed as scheduled at 9 p.m. PT.

American Airlines also responded to YG’s Twitter video, tweeting, “In our culture, every interaction with a customer or team member should be grounded in respect. Please meet us in DMs with more info.”

YG later tweeted that he was able to make his show thanks to Delta Air Lines, which is probably not what Tamar Braxton would say.

The 29-year-old YG — whose real name is Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson — is alleged to have ripped a chain from a fan’s neck and pocketed it, before allegedly inviting his entourage to beat the man up. The incident occurred at around 4 am PT on May 27, according to police documents seen by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Casino surveillance footage obtained by police shows the rapper walking away from the man with “a shiny object in his hand,” according to court documents.
The victim is suing Jackson independently and claims that an assault ensued at YG’s instigation, the TMZ website says. The unnamed man is reportedly seeking $250,000 in damages.

Jackson has a 2009 burglary conviction in California, according to court records. In January 2012, shots were fired during the filming of his I’m a Thug music video and the shoot was closed down by cops.
In June 2015, he was shot in the hip during a recording session at the Studio City studio in Los Angeles. Despite his injuries, police described him as “very uncooperative” during the ensuing investigation.

Jackson, as is Bloods’ practice, replaces the letter “C” with a “B” in his music and general conversation, as in Still Brazy and I’m from Bompton.

“I didn’t make up ‘Bompton,’” he admitted during an interview with Vlad TV. “But I’m the first one to come out with a song called ‘Bompton’ or ‘I’m from Bompton,’” he claimed. “We change our C words to B’s. It ain’t no disrespect,” he added.

The rapper will be back in bourt October 8.

Jussie was on his way to Moore's apartment when the hoax of an attack happened. Then he sat for 45 minutes with his pathetic coiled clothesline around his neck waiting for his spotlight. Moore has already lied once when he claimed he was on the phone with Jussie during the attack, saying he heard 'This is MAGA country!'.

Considering the recent fake hate mail that Jussie reported, where again MAGA is written all over the envelope, it seems likely that this conspiracy was brewing for at least a couple of weeks, and that the lowlife gang member Brandon Z. Moore was involved in, or even responsible for, creating the hoax.

A woman who lives in Jussie Smollett's apartment building told cops she saw a suspicious man -- whom she said looked like a "redneck" -- loitering just outside the entrance to the building an hour and a half before Jussie says he was attacked.

The woman -- who asked us not to use her name -- tells TMZ, she walked out of the building at 12:30 AM Tuesday to take her dogs out and saw the man near the door, pacing between the parking garage and entrance, looking agitated and smoking a cigarette. She says, "He looked out of place." He was a white man with scruff on his face wearing a blue winter beanie, a blue zip-up sweatshirt with a hood and blue jeans that were too short, exposing "thick, grey hunting socks" with camel-colored dress shoes.

So a white man with an exposed face stood outside for two hours in -20 degree weather to ambush Jussie.

He may be an evil, Trump-supporting racist, but you gotta appreciate the dedication.
