Not a law fag, but I think the decision still has to be adjucated in front of him...to give him the chance to raise any concerns (ha), but also for the judge to explain what DPP is. It's like pretrial probation, his terms are going to be fucking STRICT bc it's a goddamn felony, but they have to be enumerated to him by the judge and then agree to them, probably. I'm assuming that's what the trial date becomes.
He'll maybe get 2 years of the probation, maybe more? But again, it's a felony, so it won't be nothing. He'll last maybe, idk, 6 or 8 weeks before he fucks it up and goes away for a very long time.
