What's interesting, is that while PC and consoles seem to be getting the brunt of wokeness thrust upon them. Mobile games seem to be free of that sort of thing. Pity I hate interface and quick fix endorphin gameplay with an attached cash shop.

Probably because there is next to no regulation when it comes to uploading mobile apps. Consoles are easy to regulate because of all the hoops a developer has to get through before their work shows up on the market, same with PC's, albeit a bit more lax, and also that's mostly through larger DRM-locked providers like Steam and GOG.
App stores however, all you need to do is pay the annual fee which is like next to nothing, and then you can submit apps every single god damn day. There is next to no regulation because it is impossible to monitor it all.
Also, and let's be honest here - it also comes down to how big of a target and how much bank is behind it for people to bitch about it. The PC crowd is going to screech and cry about AAA games because that's how they can get attention, but smaller niche titles they aren't going to crow about.
Warriors Orochi 4, a game that came out on consoles just a few months ago, nearly every single female character dotes on some man and their biggest interests are either cooking or how to be a good wife. But because it's a niche game, not a word, not a goddamn peep from the PC crowd. Why? Because who the fuck cares about a game with an small install base?
Same idea applies to mobile gaming. Most of these titles probably are lucky to move a few thousand copies- it isn't worth the time or energy to bitch about some big ol anime tiddies game when they can be spending their time shrieking about how you can punch a woman in Red Dead Redemption 2.

I think Capcom is going to try and focus on community goodwill for a while; they've just removed Yoshinori Ono from head of that division and replaced him with the Monster Hunter World director - probably a move away from the multiple season passes, DLC costumes, and mediocre games they've been known for; for awhile.

I can see this being done successfully, if not by Microsoft then by someone else.
The thing is, it'd have to be an asset acquisition. That would allow any buyer to pick and choose any IP and trademark they want while avoiding the liabilities that would normally come with outright buying a company. Plus they'd have to spend tons of money on a Domino's-like PR campaign where they say "Hey our products might have sucked in the past but give us another chance. If you give us enough preorders for the next Elder Scrolls, we'll shoot Todd Howard out of a cannon and into the sun."

Yeah... I bought Agents of Mayhem as part of sale last year for $10 which included the bonus characters and all that crap... and yeah... that was easily one of the most underwhelming gaming experiences I've had in the last decade.
Changing subject onto predictions...
After releasing six female characters, a giant black guy, and a fucking hamster as new characters, Blizzard releases a new white guy into Overwatch's roster and is IMMEDIATELY set upon by games journos, saying how sexist a company they are and how dare they not have any female representation.

EA will release more lootcrate / microtransaction BS, Nintendo will announce another terrible Fire Emblem that nobody wants, F-Zero will still not get a new game, some new cancerous MOB game like Fortnite will be released, and the remasters will ironically be the best games of the year.

A new game will come out that the developers know is terrible. So they feature "minorities" in prominent cast roles and make a big deal of their "diversity" in the marketing. On launch, they will heavily imply that anyone who criticises the game must be a Nazi, probably helped by a handful of Useful Idiots who send slur-riddled death threats to the cast (whilst nobody can find any evidence of these death threats, it is made clear that doubting their existence also makes you a Nazi). Woke news outlets will clutch their pearls about this and give the creators millions of dollars of free publicity whilst writing hand-wringing editorials about how white males are to blame and calling the cast and developers "brave". Someone will blame Gamergate.
