I can only speak for myself on this, but my personal reason for giving more time and thought to criticizing the left is because I've spent my entire adult life surrounded by leftists and hearing all the usual fallacious soundbites about how perfect the democrats and social justice are and how it's okay to condemn people based on identity politics and their arbitrary placement on the hierarchy of privilege. The people in my day-to-day life don't need to be told how terrible conservatives are because they've already blindly accepted it. If anything they need to be told they're wrong about why certain conservatives are bad people.

Obviously this forum has a different demographic composition than my rl work/social world, but there aren't as many mindless right-wing dicksuckers here as first impressions might give.

Church did not encourage learning to read; most bibles to the public were illustrated and narrated by the priests.
The only real progress of the time were in music, weapons and agriculture.
Most cultural progress came with illumination period, that encouraged atheism.

Yeah, that's fair I suppose. Trump's election was kind of a personal watershed moment to me that I gotta stop letting the self-important smugness ride whenever I encounter it among my friends and neighbors because before it was just boring and asinine, but now it was demonstrably retarded.
