Citing the Qur'an is a perfectly legitimate source if the question is "What do Muslims believe?"

This is especially true for specific issues, like "Do you support the fatwa on Salman Rushdie?" or "Do you believe apostates (those who leave Islam) should be killed?" I really don't care, except in a theoretical, academic sense, what the religion actually believes spiritually. That part of it is nobody's business anyway. I do care, though, about the sort of beliefs that are incompatible with a Western liberal democracy that are held by those trying to migrate into one (specifically the one where I live).

If they have the kind of beliefs that lead to terrorist acts, I do not want those particular people in my country. At all. Ever.

I think the onus is on those seeking entry to show they actually belong here before they're allowed in.

This is exactly what I believe as well. People incorrectly assume that believers follow their holy scriptures. They don't. Believers follow what their preachers tell them to believe. Any religion, and I mean ANY religion, can be twisted into a religion of war and a religion of peace. Jesus' message is strongly anti-violence, ALL kinds of violence and that didn't prevent the crusades or that many Christians today support death penalty. Fuck, there are even *Buddhist* extremists out there.

That is why I believe that Islam is not the problem, but many Muslims are. It may seem a contradiction, after all, wasn't it Islam that made Muslims into who they are? But again, this is not what I think. As long as many (not all!) ordinary Muslims stick to a completely backwards interpretation of their religion (because, again, it is the interpretation that matters, not what is actually written in the Qur'an), we will be getting religious violence.

Islam's problem is that it has had no central religious authority since the Caliphate collapsed so anyone loud enough can impose his vision onto other people. That becomes especially dangerous if that person is followed by huge money, and this is the case with extremist preachers in Western Europe and elsewhere sponsored by Saudi money. You may have enlightened, pretty liberal scholars at Egypt's Al-Azhar university, but that doesn't matter if their voices are drowned out by thousands of antiliberal and anti-Western cunts worldwide who preach directly to the common people. That is why in my view the first thing to do in order to disarm the Muslim problem is cracking down on hate-mongering mosque preachers. Germany is starting to do it, as far as I know, and this is a good thing.

Not every Hadith is credible. If it's straight from the Prophet PBUH or one of his close companions, than it's worth listening to. The only places that execute gays are countries like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Even then, Saudi Arabia is improving.

The prophet PBUH was a human being just like all of us, and obviously he's not perfect just like all of us.
