In my quest of hoarding roms and dumps from Myrient before it shuts down, I noticed I have a lot of files for a single game due to many re-releases and revisions. Of course there are also many regional versions of the games.

My biggest gripe is to find a place which recommends or at least tells you the differences between regions and revisions.

Mobygames sucks ass for that.

Ideally I would keep the latest revision and US\Europe releases but it has been proven there have been censorship in either Europe or US for certain games in later revisions. I tend to think US censors less but I am not sure about that.

Regrettably, I think "tcrf DOT net" might have what you need.

Sad, though, because the main admin is an insane tranny https://kiwifarms.st/threads/alexander-todd-workman-zamujasa-xkeeper-xkeepah.221563/
Unless somebody wants to make their own tranny free version that's basically it. hiddenpalace.org has some info too but it's for unreleased games and prerelease builds.
In general I am interested in PC and home computer information.
Look at this huge amount of versions:

O.K., so from what little research I've done, I can tell you that the "Walmart" version just means it includes a "special" car called the "98 Indy 500 Pace"

They even change the boxart to reflect that

The "OEM" version are versions that also come pre-bundled with other software (which was a thing back then).

"Sold Out Software" is just a publisher that got the rights to release the game. Otherwise I'm not sure what the difference is between those, the other re-releases, and the original releases.

I know that the walmart edition contains some additional cars, but then my question is, does it have the latest bug fixes, or should I get the re-release and just download the dlc for NFS 3?
