So, you’re supposed to let some fourty pound overweight yet with horrible, small flabby hrt lookin’ tits tell you why you’re supposed to like loudmouth blacks and tugboat receiving neighbors who make your life hell? I’d rather have a nun molest me like the good old days, at least they have nice tits

There seems to be a very specific type of liberal elitist that is into therapy, specifically individuals obsessed with "productivity" above all else (i.e. being a sheep for someone else's money), and narcissists who are looking for someone to help reassure them that they're right and everyone else is the idiot.
Honestly I don't it has any more benefit for anyone than just talking to another person.

On top of it, nowadays there's a major rise in ridiculous "remote therapy", so people aren't even leaving their houses. Actually getting out into a different setting and being face to face with another person used to be one of the consistent benefits therapy would have regardless of how much a therapist sucked.

At this point 98 out of 100 therapists have no purpose besides helping to transform individuals into pod people, reassuring them that the reason they're miserable isn't because the life they're living is pathetic and they're being treated like livestock, but rather because they're "ill". It's fucked up; just talk to other people instead.

Therapy in the modern world I have always felt was a form of social disciplining-corralling misfits, eccentrics and potential dissidents against our wretched culture by telling them they are somehow wrong or have failed for not celebrating the greed, stupidity, vanity and worthless filth of modern America (or Western society in general).

Bit of disclosure-I went to a therapist throughout HS, not by choice but because my parents demanded it. It was one of the most miserable and degrading experiences of my short life. All they do is basically gaslight, degrade and humiliate and patronize you, and then at the end of the hour, demand you cash that check for their time and your degradation.

They want the populace drugged up and constantly stressed, and thus unable to think and evaluate what is going on critically or rationally.

It would be a massive windfall for the pharmaceutical industry, and would also likely increase suicides, troon outs, and other unhealthy behavior.
