Yes.

Don't get me wrong, it's fucking great with the right person, and objectively necessary for a healthy relationship. But (((for some reason))) it's being propped up as the most important thing in the world, more important than virtue or morality or self-sufficiency or prudence or accountability or discipline or any of the prerequisite qualities necessary for a person, family and society to thrive.

Whether your priority is to experience human existence or perpetuate it, sex is pretty important either way. It's tied not only to the survival of your genetic line but also onto some of the intensely positive feelings and sensations that exist.

Socially it also plays a huge factor in how you're perceived by others and how you find your place in the pecking order. People crave it, seek it, respect it and envy it. So much so that people deny these things as an emotional defense mechanism. Entire industries operate on sex, openly or sneakily.

As a specific physical activity sex may be a little overrated in terms of slow motion scenes of ecstasy in movies, exaggerated pleasure in porn, and stories of sexual love that trump and conquer all other priorities... but as a force in life and society, the influence and significance of sex can't really be overstated.

Sex is cool, but have you ever tried Jack Daniels cake with the glaze made just right? My wife cant beat that with anything in bed. No woman could.

It kept the species going for 500,000+ years , yeah it's kind of important.

Does anyone know the highest rate of suicide in demographics? CIS men who are not having sex. I think I says it all right there, they have nothing to offer the species so they self terminate instead of taking resources. If you are not physically attracted to your partner your relationship will not last, you will not have sex and you will become roomates. Most likely one of you will cheat.

I'm a very compulsive and mentally fucked up individual. I mean that in all sincerity, there are no cures for what I am only prescription meds that effectively turn people into zombies IMHO. This means of driving this manic behavior towards the least destructive thing is the healthiest thing for me. In my earlier days it was obsessively learning about science specifically "survivalist" subculture, that was before 9-11 and the patriot act. I'm still missing part of eyebrow from a an experiment with an oxidizer and fuel in a compressed container. Then I became obsessed with music, then I became ambitious and started a company worked 60 hours a week became financial independent. I discovered sex and took it way to far, specifically bisexual women/threesomes/foursomes/ private sex clubs. Sex and exercise became my new obsession. I gave my promiscuity a brake and stop being a man-whore and trying to see how many different girls I could fuck in a week to look for the elusive LTR. I fell deep into drugs. I was waiting outside a hospital waiting to be admitted for a heavy addition detox and a Dr. comes out and starts up a conversation, he can see I'm fucked up and he gives me some good advice. There are some people who find drugs, hard drugs like fentanyl cocaine meth etc, and they don't live on the street, they just slowly or suddenly die from drug related causes. He said you either move to the middle of nowhere where you cannot find these things or you build your life around a new obsession. IIRC Duff McKagan of Guns and Roses and Velvet revolver, gave up his addition and became obsessed with martial arts and exercise. So of all the vices out there sex is one of the healthier ones.

It's not quite that bad and I'm not that handsome. I look astoundingly like a certain actor most famous from an early Quentin Tarantino film. A woman who worked for him as his PA ran into me and told me she swore I was his illegitimate son. Anyone who guesses right I'll reveal it. I say way too fucking much about myself on KF already.

Honestly 90's movies I think played a big part in propping up the idea that casual sex is this great amazing thing (American Pie, etc). In my experience unless you actually love the person, it's just suboptimal masturbation
