Pinocchio has already been used as a symbol in fascist Italy, the Disney movie was being made at the start of WW2 so it's interesting timing.

Being force fed large amounts of castor oil was a form of torture and humiliation commonly used by the Blackshirts under Mussolini as it would have a laxative effect, it would often be combined with beatings using a baton to the rear which could also lead to infection.
