Seems like transients are getting more aggressive lately asking for money for just existing. It's not yet legal to shoot them but I feel like a quick blast of some pepper gel gets them to fuck off well enough.

Am I the bad guy?

Depends on what they did.

That being said, I have sympathy for some homeless people as long as they are White. I'll give a few dollars to White bums. I'll tell black bums to get the fuck out of my face.

I'm way too soft-hearted to ever be mean to homeless people. I can't even bring myself not to give them anything, but I'm also a cheap skate, so what I like to do is grab a bunch of unactivated gift cards from Target and hand those out instead of money. Sometimes I'll even follow one of them into a Starbucks on the sly and then watch them try to pay with the card, and then freak out when they realize it's junk and they're not getting coffee and a bagel. Suckers!

The last decade has made me realize why the Romans rounded up the homeless to have them fight in the coliseum. I like to imagine Pompey riding through the streets of Portland or LA gathering all of the Antifa junkies to fight in a battle royale at Cowboys stadium for all of us to watch. Last man standing gets declared King of the Homeless. I’d pay good money to watch that.

A homeless man asked me for a dollar once. I asked him what he was going to buy with it. “Iono. Maybe some Mack-Donals or somfin.” I paused like I was considering his plight and then I replied “No, McDonald’s is bad for you.” As I walked off he was frozen speechless. He thought he had fooled another victim.

The last one I maced certainly did. Asshole walked up to me at a gas pump at like 1130 at night, while I was filling my tank.

I get asking me for crack money as I walk into the circle K while your sitting on the curb near the front door, but what makes you think it's cool to approach a stranger while pumping gas? I don't know you or what you're capable of him.

He got more than loose change but watching him stumble away screaming was fun.
