Maybe, if your level of "participation" goes beyond shitposting anonymously on a forum into cow-tipping. Beyond that, is your ordinary participation on this forum becoming a hindrance to prayer and charity for you? I can imagine that possibility - like you just get so jaded after watching so many morons burn their lives down around them that you find it hard to take a chance on helping somebody else because you're so used to losers squandering every good thing that comes their way. Nobody ever became a worse person for taking a break from Chris-chan's antics for a while.
 
Discussing internet drama possibly violates "right speech", the third component of the eight-fold path in Buddhism. However, partaking in gossip doesn't really harm anyone as long as you're not starting or spreading lies. It's something everyone claims to dislike, but everyone seems to enjoy partaking in, and I'm not expecting Nirvana in this life anyway.
