Is NYC like GTA 4?

Is real life NYC anything like the fictional Liberty City from GTA?

Pretty realistic, I could be anal about how they messed up on the geography, but I am fairly sure it's due to the technology at the time, There are a lot of funny characters everywhere, and whoever you encounter has an interesting path that landed them where they are currently. I do think Rockstar did a good job at getting the subway pretty close to reality to the best they could for the time. Though the noir lover in me feels like Max Payne has a pretty good portrayal of NYC too.

The one completely accurate thing is that every citizen is assigned an asshole cousin who calls you up every 10 minutes demanding you take him bowling.

It's exactly like in GTA, but don't just take my word for it. Steal a car and drive 120mph down the bridge in the wrong lane, find out for yourself.

The npcs in NYC drive like shit, are rude and want to fight you so it's just like GTA4
