It seems like everyone from politicians to people on YouTube and every other major social media site is constantly complaining about how housing is unaffordable, people can't afford to feed their families, everything costs more, etc. The way they make things sound, it seems like everyone would be homeless, but I have never felt the impact of this. Sure, my parents divorced, and I constantly moved, but my apartment was always paid for, and I never had to worry about food. Why does everyone make life seem so hard? Am I just out of touch, or is everything really hard and unaffordable?

Life's easy until shit happens, and sometimes shit just keeps happening and happening and happening. Keeping a good perspective is important because some shit you just have absolutely zero control over and it will hit you like a freight train.

Life is embarrassingly easy if you live in the first world. Take the time to consider how many hours of labor it would take you to complete a basic survival task like building a structure or hunting a meal, then compare it to how long you would need to sell your time doing some boring piss easy task like stocking shelves to afford the end result.

That said life seems hard because every decade the difficulty level gets raised for normal people.
