Had it downloaded for 15mims and joined a server
First thing I see is an adult woman trying to rp with teenage boys

Your mistake was joining servers or bothering with the server function at all. If you ignore it, it's just a shitty, unencrypted text/video chat program. Not that good of a compromise but at least you don't have to worry about trannies coming onto you.

Roblox is still somehow up despite being just as pedophile-infested as Discord. Skype was the Discord before Discord, and nothing ever happened to it. I wish for Total Discord Death too, but I feel like you're being :optimistic:

Excellent point. I wasn't being cynical enough about the topic, a mistake given the state of the world.

Discord is an echo chamber and every single community creates obsessive freaks. It's depressing to even think about what happens there, based on what we already know has happened (i.e. radicalization and DIY crime instructions).

Yeah, it's a degenerate's paradise. It has been for quite a long time too. Alongside all the illegal materials and Cold Pepsi you're going to find predators galore. Just look up the grooming cults there and you'll really get to understanding how fucked up things can get. That being said, the ERP servers are a blast. I actually met some of my best friends there. So not only is there predators, but also sex fiends and degenerates of all types.

Me and irl friends that do [social activity] have a server to make plans for [social activity]. It's hard to get people to make the switch to something else without a good reason and nobody else cares if it's encrypted because most of the contents of the server is "hey is anybody else going to see [50 year old movie] at [Shitty Local Theater] on Saturday" or "I'm bringing lasagna to [social activity] on Wednesday". It's better than planning everything on Facebook I guess.

It's possible to find a good server on discord just like it's possible to find good channels on youtube. It's all about exercizing good judgement.
I think I must have the luck of the Irish or something because I don't think I've ever fallen across these kinds of horrorshow servers.
Then again I'm only in like three servers, one of which is the KF Movie Nights server, so maybe I just haven't had a large enough sample size to run into the grooming cults.

I genuinely can't tell if this is bait or if you're actually in full seriousness talking on Kiwifarms about how your Discord sex roleplay buddies are the best. If it's the latter, then you really need to lurk more.

Giant servers are always dogshit. A server needs to be the right size to where it's big enough to be active, but also small enough so that people know each other and it's not just chaos with 500 messages per minute, so it can actually be moderated and creeps can be kicked out. Servers with an interview/verification process also tend to be better than ones without. I know someone who asks people that join their server what they do for work, so she can make a note of those that are unemployed because they tend to be the ones causing most of the issues.

I'm not sure why you're questioning me on my server choices when we're both in agreement that it's precisely the servers that have these kinds of checks and balances in place that allow quality people to thrive. The ERP servers that I frequent, for example, have an interview process that separate the trolls and minors (Drivers' license age verification servers) from legitimate adult femboy erotic roleplay connoisseurs. 200+ user anarchy servers tend to have conflicts of interest when allowing minors in spaces that features NSFW/adult content, so of course you're going to be in for some real creepo degenerate shit if you decide to join servers like that. I'm primarily in agreement with everything you said. I'm just trying to be reasonable here. Also, servers that advertise having active moderation teams on Disboard are solid litmus tests for finding a good server to plant your roots in.

One of the disclaimers plastered all over this website for newbies is to not give embarrassing details of your sex life. Talking about your Discord sexual roleplays would fall under this in my opinion. So I suggest you probably avoid doing so in other threads, because it'll probably lead to someone making a thread on you.

Pretty much my experience, I’ve come across bad servers but I just left them and went about my day. Nothing that made me feel the need to post about it on KF.

Late response, but a lot of people don’t like Discord mainly cause it moderates the same way most other companies moderate, like a company. So if they get this report or that report they’re most likely not going to do shit just like Instagram won’t do shit or Facebook won’t do shit or YouTube won’t do shit. On all these other platforms, we’ve learned to either take matters into our own hands or just ignore it. For some reason though, when it comes to Discord, people can’t grasp that. So this server not being banned must be because Discord is run by pedophile furries with a secret cp ring, not because they’re a company who doesn’t know nor care about half the shit going on in their app.
