this is not the face of improvement

My opinion is that he is not getting better. The amount of time I've spent reading about this guy in a relatively short time makes me believe that I'm not getting any better either.

I was actually thinking about this today. Think back to the Sonichu Christmas Special. The American Hedgehog has this for his avatar:

Now, for Chris, the word "empathy" is outside of his honor roll vocabulary. Plus he is using empathy in a correct context, in regards to a lady's tale of woe. Where does this word come up? He has never used it before, as far as the CWCki would tell me. It is used primarily in autism self-help books. A lack of empathy is the most glaring symptom of autism, and it seems Chris has taken his nose out of Goosebumps and into diagnosis books about autism spectrum disorder.

tl;dr he hasn't improved BUT he gave it the old college try, I think. He's at least trying to help himself somewhat. But everything with Chris is 1 step forward, and falling backwards down the steps.

Chris has known the word "empathy" for a long time.

He threw around the word 'empathy' quite a bit during the Jackie and Catherine days. If I'm not mistaken, he even used it prominently in one of his dating site profiles.

Chris knows the word 'empathy'. He's read the definition, he grasps what it means, he sees how it's supposed to affect a person. He's had people accuse him over and over of not possessing it. He realizes that if he exhibits an understanding of it that he might score more points when it comes to attracting a partner. He's never personally experienced it, however, and his earnest attempts at depicting it scream that loud and clear.

Chris isn't as pathetic as he used to be. For one, he doesn't talk about vulgar bullshit nearly as often. He also doesn't say homophobic and racist shit constantly anymore, which is nice, I guess. Ultimately, although I think he's hilarious, I hope he gets his life in order at some point. I think he's on the right track but he's progressing really slowly and that's frustrating.

I don't see his past homophobia as being fundamentally different from his current misandry. Who he hates isn't that important, but he's always felt a need (and an entitlement) to hate some group or other.

Empathy is one if chris's "buzzwords" He thinks it's a feminine trait, he knows it's a "good" thing and he thinks using it will make him appear intelligent the trifecta
